Wizard World returns to Texas as Austin Comic-Con

I’m sure some will be elated the comic convention is returning, but I have a feeling more than one person could care less what Wizard is doing with their conventions these days. Press Release Gareb Shamus, CEO of New York based Wizard Entertainment, today announced the launch of Austin Comic Con 2010 Wizard World Convention, to be held at the Austin Convention Center from November 12-14, 2010. Fans have been asking for this event for some time. In an e-mail to Shamus, Larry Nickels Jr. wrote, “There are many people that I know of personally who would love to attend…

Wizard Buys Big Apple Con

Here’s something that makes a whole lot of sense; your company is letting people go left and right, you cancel and/or postpone Wizard World Texas and Wizard World Los Angeles, so you go out and purchase the Big Apple Convention.  To make matters even more confusing, Gareb Shamus is moving the show to October 16 – 18, 2009, which just so happens to be the same month that the New York Comic Con had announced it is moving to.  If Shamus and Wizard wanted to stir up a hornet’s nest of publicity on a slow news day, it certainly succeeded…
