Comicbook.com is reporting that Marvel will drop Daredevil season 2 on Netflix Friday, Marh 25th – which just so happens to be the same day that Batman V Superman will hit theaters worldwide for DC.  While putting forth a streaming series confined to Netflix is not necessarily a shot across the bow from Marvel to DC, this is not the first time that the two rival companies have scheduled release  dates for their IPs at the same time (does anyone remember the Civil War/Batman V Superman thing from last year?). In the past one company has always backed down in the fact of such rivalry, but this time it

What a great world we live in! Both Marvel and DC have television shows out right now led by female characters and supported by African American men. This is a much needed strike for diversity in the ever changing landscape of contemporary media. That’s probably a cliche phrase that seems obvious to the reader, but I want to start this editorial off with a positive.   HOW COOL IS THAT?   I watch both Jessica Jones and Supergirl. I’ve reviewed them both. Both shows have incredible good things about them and both shows have some things that aren’t necessarily to

The Daily Mail has released several photographs from the set of Wonder Woman shooting on the River Thames in South Essex. “Gal donned a long, slate-grey coat, which was cinched in at the waist with a tan leather belt,” The Daily Mail observed, “The styling consisted of brown lace-up boots and a wide-brimmed fedora hat, with a white shirt beneath … Chris was also spotted in full costume as the USAF pilot, wearing a brown leather aviator jacket and matching trousers. The rest of his costume consisted of beige knee-high socks, covering up in a khaki parka coat with fur lining.” All of these fashion clues (in addition

In an interview with The Guardian auteur Guillermo Del Toro spoke about his upcoming film Crimson Peak (hitting cinemas on Friday), and his inclination to work on more films like that, rather than pursuing Pacific Rim 2 or Justice League Dark both of which have been in developmental Hell at their respective studios. “What I can tell you quite safely is, I don’t intend to keep on doing big, giant Hollywood movies for much longer. ‘Crimson Peak’ is a great permit for me to work on a smaller scale. I mean, it’s big for a drama, but it’s a much smaller undertaking than ‘Pacific

With the recent confirmation that Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson has accepted the role of Black Adam in Warner Brothers’ upcoming Shazam! movie, curiosity now turns to who is going to play Captain Marvel, himself (although that name doesn’t seem likely to make it to the big screen given the success of Marvel Studios in recent years)?   When rumours were swirling that Dwayne John could have stepped into the lightning bolt of DC’s greatest Superman analogue it seemed like an amazing idea to cast a person of colour in this part, thereby opening up big-screen superheroes to entire demographic of

Movie is The First Ever Animated Superman Project to Be Rated PG-13 Oh Man! I Can Not Wait For This DVD! Most of us certainly remember the hype surrounding the Death of Superman, and even if the story was a little shaky in places, you have to admit it was a fun ride. There are a couple of things I’m looking forward to seeing in this DVD. The first is the level of cartoon violence taking place in the flick causing the PG-13 rating. I’m also interested in seeing how Adam Baldwin will do as the voice of Superman, Anne

Variety is reporting that Bryan Singer has inked a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures to produce and direct the sequel to Superman Returns. Even though there is no budget or script, the film should hit the screen in 2009. The deal comes shortly after the announcement that Superman Returns passed the $200 million mark domestically. Even though the film has made $390 million world wide, I believe the studio was hoping to make that money in less time. Audiences were split on the like it or hate it factor, with many expecting the movie to have more action than it

Okay, so Aquaman has been around for quite some time – you know, he can talk to fishes and stuff, and was in that classic cartoon show from the 70s and 80s. But no one really gave the brotha any love. This left the underwater hero as the butt of many jokes. Most recently the television series “Entourage” has Vincent Chase (played by Adrian Grenier) staring in the James Cameron (played by James Cameron) directed movie which became a huge blockbuster in the show. So much so that it even prompted a real life ad in Variety. And let’s not

Just checked out the iTunes TV Show directory, and the pilot episode of Aquaman is sitting proudly at number one.  The Warner show was cancelled when the CW network decided not to include it in their new network lineup.  You can purchase the show for a mere $1.99, and at the rate the show has been selling, Warner Bros. will easily recoup the money spent on the pilot, and A.C. will remain at the top of the charts. iTunes (link)

Those crazy kids over at the Legions of Gotham Forum have posted some images for the next season of The Batman series currently running on Kids WB. But be prepared for a major shock. Remember The Batman series is supposed to chronicle the early years of Batman and the origins (albeit skewed) of the bat rogue gallery. We already have a Batgirl and a Robin showing up in the series, but season three will have Nightwing and Oracle! If that isn’t bad enough, Black Mask, Harley Quinn, and a new character, voiced by Brandon Routh, Everywhere Man. Got your continutity
