IESB has either gone full scale bonkers, or has really been doing its work on digging into the JLA film. Would you believe not only will the film have Martian Manhunter, but also the OMACS, the killing of Max Lord by Wonder Woman, Checkmate, and Darkseid killing Superman? Yeah, I don’t believe it either, it’s just way over the top, and from the plot summary by Action Boy, seems rather lame; jam packed with waaaay too much story than could reasonably be contained in a two hour movie and still make sense. Mr. Action’s description actually makes me want to…

Yes, the rumors continue from the IESB.net website. Today the gumshoes of comic filmdom are spreading gossip that the OMACS and white Martians would be playing heavies in the Justice League of America film (you know, the one that Tom Welling is supposedly in). And speaking of Martians, Martian Manhunter may be played by Laurence Fishburne. The rumoring goes on to say Ryan Reynolds is still on for the Flash, Maxwell Lord makes an appearance, and George Miller has been watching a lot of the Justice League cartoons. I love rumors, they get the Interweb community’s panties in such a…

Remember a few years ago when Todd McFarlane released a line of toys with his interpretation of L. Frank Baum’s Wizard of Oz?  Now that toy idea is going to be turned into a movie with McFarlane producing.  Josh Olson, who did a History of Violence will write. But I don’t think we’ll be seeing a bondage Dorothy. “I saw those toys, and Dorothy as some bondage queen isn’t something I want to do,” Olson told Daily Variety. “The appealing thing about the Baum books to me is how wildly imaginative they are. There are crazy characters from amazing places.…

Warner Bros. Pictures is looking to Jonny Quest as the next franchise for the company hiring Dan Mazeau to write the screenplay. First broadcast in 1964 and inspired by radio shows, comic strips and James Bond movies, the primetime sci-fi adventure series aired on ABC, then spent the next two decades in reruns. “Quest” told the thrilling stories of Quest, a young boy who accompanied his scientist father on extraordinary escapades. Also in the mix was his adopted brother from Calcutta, his pet bulldog pup, and the government agent assigned to protect them. The show, which was noted for its…

Variety is reporting Helen Slater is scheduled to appear in the sixth episode of Smallville this season. The former Supergirl: The Movie star will play Lara (Superman’s mother). Yet another Superman veteran appearing in Smallville? Cool – although I’ll be really happy when they bring in the more obscure actors who played Superboy in the 80s. via Variety

Over at the Bluetights.net, a fan ran into screenwriter Mike Dougherty and questioned him on the next film. I asked him if he was apart of the sequal because everything I have seen says Singer and Harris are writing the script and that he isn’t mentioned. He confirmed that he is writing it with the two just like the last picture. I then expressed to him that I was hoping the delays of Superman: The Man of Steel weren’t true. He said that they were on track and that the goal is still to have the movie out in the…

Superman – Doomsday is set for a September release, with New Frontier and Teen Titans: The Judas contract soon to follow. According to a supposed leaked internal memo, Warner Bros. Animation will bet taking on Wonder Woman and Batman next. The Batman movie is said to be a compilation of six Batman stories told in an anime style. The PG-13 DVD will be targeted toward hard core fans (aka me), and the tween market and will tell tales of Batman between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. According to the images, David Goyer, Brian Azzarello, and Josh Olsen are contributing…

Both Latino Review and Collider.com are reporting the rumor that George Miller may be directing the Justice League of America movie. Miller who directed Happy Feet thinks we’ll see Brandon Routh in Justice League before the sequel to Superman. The next thing I’ve heard is which Superheroes might be in the running for the first big budget team-up movie. They would be Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and the Green Lantern. I’ve also heard from sources that the “Justice League” film is more of a priority for WB than the sequel to “Superman,” so don’t be surprised if you…

Variety this morning confirms the Lois and Clark star will be heading to Smallville this fall. He is set to play Dr. Curtis Knox – a villain. He is scheduled to appear in episode four of Smallville’s 7th season, which begins September 27. Well, I’m sure there are a lot of Dean Cain fans out there who are going to love this. Of all the Supermen to don the tights, I always thought Cain in his prime fit the part near perfectly. Of course now he’s looking a bit pudgy, so playing a villain is probably the best way to…

Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to Michael Hague’s graphic novel In the Small to be turned into a motion picture. Story concerns a strange explosion that leaves everything else in the world intact but shrinks all humans to six inches tall. The survivors are forced to transition to a new social order in which man is no longer at the top of the food chain — and is confronted by a new and greater existential threat. The graphic novel is not out yet, but is expected to be published later this year. via Variety
