Browsing: Warner Bros.

Yesterday the Emmy nominations were announced with the incredibly awesome HBO series John Adams receiving the most nominations (23).  Further down the list, DC’s New Frontier made it on the Animated Program (One hour or more) list alongside Family Guy’s Blue Harvest and South Park’s Imaginationland episodes. Hands down New Frontier should get the award, but everyone in H’wood seems to be in love with Seth MacFarlane, so don’t be surprised if the Star Wars parody walks away with the award. via Variety

First it was Invincible getting the animated treatment, now Warner Bros. is announcing something very similar. UPDATE: I just finished watching the 22 minute Chapter 1, and I must say it looks really good.  The images are taken from the graphic novel, and do include word balloons and the like, but what makes this one stand out is that the panels are animated, with the figures moving, and shifting through the scene.  The only thing that would have made this first episode better would have been if they could have gotten the character’s mouths to move.  Other than that, it…

People around the world have been wetting themselves in anticipation (or so I hear, I wouldn’t know from any first hand experience – I swear) for the release of Warner Bros.’  Dark Knight movie.  Today’s the day, and with screenings beginning at 6:00 AM in some cities, Dark Knight is priming itself to be the biggest opening weekend box office of all time – it just has to beat Spider-Man 3. It’s being reported that Warner Bros. is in close talks with DC Comics and some of its creators on the direction the movie adaptations of DC characters should take. “While we are not going to go into the specifics of the meetings, we’re constantly looking at how best to exploit the DC Comics characters and properties. Wendy and Richard Pini have teamed up with Warner Bros. to bring their long running indie comic Elfquest to the silver screen.  The film will be written by Rawson Thurber, who will also direct and produce. There have been multiple attampts to make the…

File this in the rumor file, but those attending the San Diego Comic Con next month might get a double dose of Watchmen goodness. First is the rumor attendees might be seeing some of the very first footage from the film during the Dark Knight panel. The second is Nite Owl’s ship might be on the show floor. When asked whether Nite Owl’s ship would land at Comic Con, Zack once again tripped over his words and let out that revealing smile as he discussed how expensive it would be to do so.
