Warner Bros. has put the final nail in the coffin for a studio produced movie. For several years now, fans have been working on teaser trailers and short bits from what a movie would look like, but it looks like all that work is for naught.

Warner Home Video, Los Angeles Times and The Paley Center for Media proudly present the West Coast Premiere of Justice League: Doom, the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original Movies, in Los Angeles on February 16, 2012. Filmmakers and members of the voice cast will attend the event for red carpet media interviews and a post-screening panel discussion hosted by The Times’ Hero Complex writer Geoff Boucher.

If Optimus Prime and Superman had a fight, who would win? This picture is from the upcoming Man of Steel movie, directed by Zach Snyder, and we couldn’t pass up the chance to tweak that headline to draw you in, because really a headline that read, “Truck wrapped around a telephone pole” just isn’t that big of a draw.
You’re still more than welcome to debate the Superman vs. Optimus Prime fight if you like…

According to Variety, Richard Schiff has joined the cast of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, playing Dr. Hamilton. Most will remember Dr. Hamilton from the Superman: The Animated Series show, but the character originally appeared in Adventures of Superman #424 (January 1987) as a main villain. While no one is saying if The West Wing star will be a villain or a hero, Shiff should make a great Prof. Hamilton.

Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that the release date for Gotham City Imposters has been pushed back to February. Considering the original release date was supposed to be this month, and the game company is still in open beta, the shift doesn’t come as a complete surprise.

Even though actors have been cast and early work on the film has started, Warner Bros. pulled the plug in Vancouver yesterday and told nearly everyone working on the live action Akira movie to go home.

As 2011 comes to an end, and another long holiday weekend is upon us, why not kick back and watch a superhero movie or two? The Green Lantern Extended Cut movie is available on Blu-Ray that gives us more backstory on the characters.
If you are looking for something to do as you count the minutes until you get to rip open your holiday gifts, check out this animated short subject featuring Imaginext Super Friends.
Don’t worry, this is only a one off (for now) that was part of Fisher-Price’s promotional materials included in the toy line (one that my kid loves playing with). It has the same vibe as the Super Hero Squad show, and if DC/Warner Bros./Cartoon Network want something to fill that power block of shows coming in 2012, this might be something to consider putting into regular production.

I’m surprised it took this long, but Tuesday evening, bootlegged copies of the Dark Knight Rises prologue began popping up across the Internet, and if you watched it, you got a glimpse of what Bane was all about.

While Steven Soderbergh may have delivered a fantastic take on The Man from U.N.C.L.E., I’m extremely excited to hear that Guy Ritchie has been hired by Warner Bros. to take over as director of the flick.

The rumor mill over The Dark Knight Rises prologue have been all over the place lately. From Bane breaking The Bat, to a parallel story featuring Batman and Bane’s respective trainings, to something… very dark. The one thing we do know is that the six to eight minute prologue will only be in select 70mm IMAX theaters, and now we have the complete list.
