Behind the Scenes: Sorcerer’s Apprentice “Fantasia” connection
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice arrives in theaters on July 14, 2010. The big tie between the name of the live action movie, and Disney’s animation vault is of course the Fantasia sequence that Mickey Mouse made famous. In this behind-the-scenes video, the creators discuss the nature of the connection, and why it is important to make it work in the upcoming movie.
TRON: Evolution game trailer arrives

Friday Sing-Along: Up, Up, Down, Down
For the last month or so I’ve been totally addicted to Kirby Krackle’s unique brand of nerd music. We’ve featured their music a few times in the Friday Sing-Along, but this time we’ve got their official video to Up, Up, Down, Down.
Animation by Betsy Lee
Both Kirby Krackle albums are available on:

Wanna see that Blue Beetle footage before Comic-Con?
When you work in the animation and special effects industry your reel is the thing that is going to keep you in business. Scaddude (aka Rommel Calderon) may have just ruined Geoff Johns’ chance to stand in the spotlight at the San Diego Comic-Con where he is planning on showing off the Blue Beetle live action footage, by dumping the shots into his most recent demo reel.
That being said – I like this guy’s work, and since my son and I are just now getting into Ben10, it’s nice to see that at the top of the reel.
Hitler’s Klingon Challenge
Here’s another one of those really well done Hitler mash-ups, but instead of Hitler breaking down over the meme of the moment, he’s taking on the Klingons.
I wonder how long this one will be available before the lawyers tell YouTube to take this one down.
The power of the Force compels you

If you like Star Wars, and you like MMOs, and you like really cool trailers for video games, then cast your gaze upon the awesomeness that is Star Wars: The Old Republic!
In Star Wars: The Old Republic, players will explore an age thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader when war between the Old Republic and the Sith Empire divides the galaxy. Players can choose to play as Jedi, Sith, or a variety of other classic Star Wars roles, defining their personal story and determining their path down the light or dark side of the Force. Along the way, players will befriend courageous companions who will fight at their side or possibly betray them, based on the players’ actions. Players can also choose to team up with friends to battle enemies and overcome incredible challenges using dynamic Star Wars combat.

We showed off the trailer for Tangled the other day, along with an extensive gallery of images. Today, we have that same trailer, but at a higher resolution that really shows off how far 3D animation has come in the last few years.
