Or – “They Say That Breaking Up Is Hard To Do…” The fallout from Avengers Vs. X-Men has been pretty colossal, so it’s easy to forget that one of the casualties was the long-term (for X-Men, anyway) relationship between Cyclops and the White Queen. Awkwardly, both halves of the couple are part of the Uncanny team now, and you have to know that the question will come up sooner rather than later… What happens now? Your Major Spoilers review awaits!
Or – “The New Bendis Era Begins!” When Brian Bendis took the reins of the Avengers in two-thousand-whatever, he immediately got things off the ground with a bang, blowing up Avengers Mansion, killing off fan-favorites, and immediately shaking up the status quo by adding new characters to the Avengers mix. It was a thunderbolt from the blue for an admittedly shaky franchise, and brought the Avengers back into the public consciousness for the new century. Now, BMB is ram-rodding a new age for the X-Men franchise, including a new role for the original X-leader, Cyclops. Will they bring ol’ One-Eye
Press Release We already know that one of the Uncanny X-Men is a traitor, so can we eliminate those seen on this promotional image for Uncanny X-Men #5 that Marvel has sent out? Marvel’s big month of April continues to be pushed in the image after the jump.
In an effort to poke fun at DC Comics, Marvel is releasing their own variant cover for Uncanny X-Men #1 – the 53 State Birds Variant.
Marvel NOW! begins right now with the debut of Uncanny Avengers #1. You got your Avengers in my X-Men! No, you got your X-Men in my Avengers. And Major Spoilers has the review to let you know whether these two tastes work well together.
Or – “When You Boil It Down, Much Of The Marvel Universe Is About High School…” There is a theory I’ve heard that ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ was popular not because of its supernatural overtones, but that because the series itself was a metaphor for growing up. I’d have to say that there’s a grain of truth in that (though there are episodes where they try far too hard to hammer that point home, notably much of Season 6) but I don’t think that they’re alone in that department. The X-Men, significantly, have gotten a lot of mileage out of
The Phoenix Force has taken residence in not one, but five X-Men, promising the mutants a return to their proper place atop the evolutionary ladder. Sinister understands this means problems for his perfect species, himself, and is preparing counter measures. For the Major Spoilers look, take the jump.
Or – “I’m Suddenly Possessed By The Realization That I Miss Punk-Rock Storm.” One Saturday I took a walk to Xavier’s School, I met a girl there, floating up above the pool! Punk Rock Storm, lightning just struck me! Punk Rock Storm, can we please marry? With my hair on fire it’s warm! Just you and me, Punk Rock Storm! I tapped her on the arm and asked for my answer! She looked at me and said “I married Black Panther!” Punk Rock Storm, please give me a chance! Punk Rock Storm, in your leather pants, that to your hips
“Imperius Sex!” You can call me a comic book newb as I only started reading at the start of The New 52 after taking a series of Stephen’s classes last semester that immersed me into the culture. I wanted to branch out from DC and when I found out that Uncanny X-Men was getting a reboot renumbering I figured it was a snap call since I like starting a collection from #1. Can Uncanny X-Men deliver to a newb, or do I need to empty more of my wallet to follow the story?
