When the last Harry Potter book arrived in book stores, it was a weird moment in history, and its absence has had a huge impact in the way bookstores do business. With the recent changes going on with DC Entertainment, and claims made by the higher up muckety-mucks that DC will fill the gap left after the last Harry Potter film arrives, it looks like we are going to see a change occur in the way Warner Bros. conducts itself. Touchstone Pictures is adapting William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and turning it into an animated feature starring garden gnomes. Directed by Kelly Asbury (co-director of “Shrek 2”) and showcasing both classic and original songs by Elton John, the film features the voices of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt as Gnomeo and Juliet, who have as many obstacles to overcome as their quasi namesakes when they are caught up in a feud between neighbors. The zombie invasion has penetrated the book market with mashups like Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies, and now the Star Trek universe gets some undead action with Night of the Living Trekkies. While a book with no images may not sound that exciting, Quirk Books makes me want to run out and pick up the book with this trailer. AMC has released a new trailer for the upcoming Walking Dead series. Here Rick wakes up in the hospital following the zombiepocalypse and attempts to make sense of what has happened. Can’t wait until October 31st to see this one, though with a young one in the house who has an overactive imagination, this might be a series best left to after the kid goes to bed.

The Fictory continues to work on the Atomic Robo animated short, and they’ve released a teaser trailer to get more people interested in the project.
