Art Asylum has unveiled the X-Men: First Class Minimate collection. There are eight figures in the set (Azazel, Beast, Emma Frost, Havok, Magneto, Mystique, Shaw, and Charles Xavier), and while there weren’t a lot of changes to previous incarnations of the figures, Barry Bradfield, designer for Minimates, did have a few updates. While some characters went through minor alterations (almost none at all) others got revised heavily based on better costume suggestions from the licencor. Actors Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth stopped by Toy Fair in New York City yesterday to check out their likenesses in action figure form at the Hasbro booth. The Captain America and Thor movies arrive in theaters this summer. It won’t die no matter how hard George Lucas tries. The Star Wars toy line is just as prosperous as it’s ever been and this year there is going to be an emphasis on the Vintage line and the Clone Wars cartoon line.
With the summer release of Transformers: Dark of the Moon coming soon it’s only natural that Hasbro focused most of its Transformers presentation on it. While most of the movie figures are merely updates of what fans have seen from the previous two film’s toy lines, Hasbro did have a few tricks up their sleeves.
