New Miniseries Challenges Fans to Take Part in the Upcoming Horror

Crazed serial killers often claim to be doing God’s work, but what if one really was? MYSTERIOUS WAYS, a six-issue miniseries from Image Comics’ Top Cow Productions proposes an answer to that disturbing question. ADVANCE REVIEW: Witchblade #143
When the star of said comic, Sara Pezzini, wielder of the Witchblade, shows up in her own comic as a guest star only, it might not end well. Can her partner, and lover Detective Patrick Gleason hold this comic up all by himself? Or will the lack of a buxom, gauntlet wielding female doom this the title to become Witch-bland? INTERVIEW: Echoes Joshua Hale Fialkov and Rahsan Ekedal
Mark Silvestri’s Image Comics imprint Top Cow Productions is best known for turning out darker superhero titles like Witchblade, The Darkess, Artifacts and Cyberforce. The company has expanded to form Minotaur Press, a subsidiary imprint through Top Cow, that releases comics that don’t fall under the superhero umbrella.
The Flagship title from Minotaur Press is Echoes by Joshua Hale Fialkov and Rahsan Ekedal, a dark twisted horror book that is already becoming one of the best new comic book series of 2011. The premise is simple but haunting, as readers watch Brian Cohn struggle to control his life-long battle with Schizophrenia, while balancing a wife and new child on the way. Cohn’s life gets thrown into a hurricane when his dying father reveals his secret life as serial killer and that his trophies from the brutal killings are buried in the crawlspace.
Issue #3 of this chilling 5 part mini-series hits stores on the February 23rd, 2011, along with a second printing of the now sold-out first issue. Major Spoilers caught up with series creators Joshua Hale Fialkov and Rahsan Ekedal to talk about their dark twisted new horror series.
Top Cow announces Haun as Artifacts artist

As the final act of ARTIFACTS draws near, Top Cow proudly announces that Jeremy Haun (Berserker, Detective Comics) will be the official artist for issues 9 through 12 of this star-studded epic series. After recently becoming a Top Cow exclusive artist, Haun will now bring Ron Marz’s potentially cataclysmic ARTIFACTS story to its conclusion before he tackles his scheduled ongoing run on The Darkness.
CONTEST: We are lost

Artists, amateur and professional alike, are encouraged to enter their images of an urban landscape with the phrase “We Are All Lost” embedded into the setting. The best entry will be selected to appear in April as the retailer incentive variant cover for NETHERWORLD #1.

Jackie Estacado descends into outer darkness

In the wake of Top Cow’s announcement of THE DARKNESS II video game for the Sony Playstation 3 from 2K Games, Image Comics and Top Cow Productions will present a new six-issue story arc entitled “Outer Darkness” for the ongoing comic book that started it all. Beginning in THE DARKNESS #90, Darkness bearer Jackie Estacado will be forced to confront his ultimate enemy.
MOVIE: Top Cow and Platinum Studios team for Vice flick
According to Deadline, Platinum Studios and Top Cow Productions have teamed up to bring the comic Vice to the big screen.
Vice tells the story of hard-core teen felons who join the FBI’s Critical Response Unit as a way to clear their records. Their bad attitudes and formidable powers make them as dangerous as the bad guys they pursue.
Andrew Lazar will produce with Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, while Marc Silvestri and Randy Greenberg will serve as executive producers.
