TV Guide is floating the rumor that model Serinda Swan may make an appearance on the CW’s Smallville playing the backwards talking, wand waving, magician Zatanna. Swan will appear in this season’s 17th episode, “Hex,” as Zatanna, a magician who grants birthday girl Chloe a wish. Having been through the wringer ever since Brainiac mind-boinked her and Doomsday crashed her wedding day, Chloe expresses a desire to lead the comparatively mild-mannered life of Lois Lane. Voilà! Stranded on a distant planet, the Jedi must convince its pacifist inhabitants to bend their beliefs and fight for peace in “Defenders of Peace,” an all-new episode of the hit animated series STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, premiering at 9 p.m. ET/PT Friday, Jan. 23, on Cartoon Network. While the Jedi combat a new Separatist weapon, the pacifist Lurmen must decide whether they will lay down to the invading forces or take up arms with Anakin, Ahsoka and Jedi General Aayla Secura to protect their belief system.

Fox Television is close to giving the DC Comic series Human Target the television treatment as it begins to announce the pilots for the new television season. Based on the cult DC Comics book and written by “Jericho” co-creator Jonathan Steinberg, it centers on a mysterious security expert who goes undercover to protect clients in danger. Will admit I’ve never read the comic, but the premise doesn’t sound any worse than other shows Fox has greenlit.  Prison Break anyone? via THR

As Jedi Master and Padawan, the relationship between Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano is central to STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS – and it faces a difficult test in “Jedi Crash,” an all-new episode that premieres at 9 p.m. ET/PT Friday on Cartoon Network. With Anakin suffering from life-threatening injuries, Ahsoka needs to find medical aid for him on an unfamiliar planet. The task leads her to a village populated by friendly but devoutly pacifistic creatures.  As she implores them for help, Ahsoka finds she needs to practice the Jedi philosophy that prohibits personal attachments.

Not a week, or two -  I lose count when I’m in the Major Spoilers Command Bunker – after the Doctor Who Christmas Special,  the BBC is set to announce David Tennant’s replacement when he steps down as the Doctor. His replacement – the eleventh Doctor of the TV series – will be revealed in a Doctor Who Confidential programme on BBC One at 1735 on 3 January.
