Reaper is a great show.  A really great show.  If you aren’t watching Reaper, you’re missing out on the next best thing to a series that is turning into the next Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  There are obviously a lot of people not watching the show, as the CW series continues to go into the toilet.  This would certainly spell the end of the series, had ABC Studios not thought otherwise. Sources said show producer ABC Studios is in talks with CW affiliate stations about continuing “Reaper” as a syndicated series for Sunday night. So when the network recently decided…

Did anyone pay really close attention to the set during last night’s “Big Bang Theory” of scenes set in the comic book shop?  Obviously a lot of DC stuff is going to be around (CBS and Time/Warner have a lot of deals together), but last night there were a plethora of Dark Horse and Image comic properties around the set.  What about Marvel?  From what I could tell, there was nary a scrap.  Is there a conspiracy afoot?  Is someone not playing ball? Did someone fail to slip the money under the table? Discuss.

Fox has renewed Fringe for another 22-episode season.  Interestingly, it is the number one new show among the demographic the show is targeted toward. “‘Fringe’ proved to be a notable addition to our schedule all season, and it really has fans buzzing as it builds to a fantastic season finale,” said Kevin Reilly, president of entertainment at Fox. “J.J. and the whole Bad Robot team have been phenomenal partners, and we look forward to years of making great television with them.” It was a slow burn getting into the show, and there were a couple of weeks early on, where…

I grew up during the 70’s and 80’s during the whole controversy surrounding children’s programing geared toward selling toys to the viewer.  So imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to discover Hasbro is teaming with Discovery Communications to form a new television network. Both the network and the venture’s online component will feature content from Hasbro’s rich portfolio of entertainment and educational properties built over the past 90 years, including original programming for animation, game shows, and live-action series and specials. New programming will be based on brands such as ROMPER ROOM, TRIVIAL PURSUIT, SCRABBLE, CRANIUM, MY…

Greg Beeman, the producer/director of the Heroes television series on NBC has been given his walking papers.  Beeman doesn’t seem too upset over the announcement. You see, I will not be returning to HEROES for Season 4. Ultimately this was a financially motivated decision made by NBC. They no longer want to have a Producer/Director position on the show. But it coincides well with my own innate wanderlust, and so, while sad to leave so many friends and comrades, I am excited for the future. The good news is, he will be continuing his Beeman’s blog with all of his…

So… uh… the kids over at the SciFi (SyFy) Wire have released a sneak peek at the costume design for the channel’s update to the classic comic strip character The Phantom. The Phantom stars Ryan Carnes (Desperate Housewives, Doctor Who) as the title hero and as his alter ego, Chris Walker, in this re-imagined version of the classic comic strip, which has been updated to the present day. Well there’s purple in the costume, but it reminds me a lot more of the costume design seen in Smallville than a classic hero from 1936.
