Well, you’ve known that for a while now, haven’t you? The elder Petrelli brother had his throat slit at the end of last season by Sylar, and actor Adrian Pasdar continued to appear on the show as Sylar took on his appearance. TV Guide has confirmed that Adrian Pasdar has been official released from the show since Nathan was last seen shot and buried in a hole in the ground. Of course Heroes is supposed to be a super hero show, and we’ve all seen how permanent deaths are in comics. via TVGuide.com

Doctor Who fans who are saddened that David Tennant ends his tenure this year, might be slightly less depressed after learning Tennant is headed to American television.  Tennant is scheduled to make his debut as Rex Alexander in NBC’s hour-long “Rex is Not Your Lawyer”. “Rex” centers on Rex Alexander (Tennant), a top Chicago litigator who begins suffering panic attacks and takes up coaching clients to represent themselves in court. This is supposed to be a comedic legal drama for those who are concerned Tenant may not get to goof off a bit in the show. via THR

The hot story hitting the Intardwebz has Kelly Souders, executive producer of Smallville, pushing for a tenth season. “We are really, really pushing for season 10,” Souders said, adding, “I think the word still isn’t out there that we’re on Friday nights. So if people keep tuning in and telling their friends about it, I think [a 10th season] is quite likely.” My TiVo down in the Major Spoilers Theater has silently been recording Smallville for the last two seasons, waiting for me to find the time to sit down and catch up on all the fun.  Can the TiVo…

The history of the Star Wars universe dates back to “a long time ago” in 1977, when the first installment of the live-action saga introduced audiences to the tumultuous events of that “galaxy far, far away.” Since that time, the smallest nuances of the sprawling space opera have found their way into the pop culture lexicon, into daily vocabulary…and into the ongoing adventures of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS! In a special encore presentation of ‘Children of the Force’ airing at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT Friday, October 23 on Cartoon Network, eagle-eyed fans can seek out some of the easter eggs,…

Doctor Who fans, who are dying to know what the inside of the TARDIS will look like once Matt Smith comes on board, may have an answer in the above image that was snapped on location.  The backdrop is used when the Doctor and crew enter and leave the time and relative dimension in space machine to match with the actual interior set.  I like the gold and reds, and that staircase might make for some interesting moments.  I just wish we could explore the interior of the TARDIS like we got to see back in the day. via IO9.com

Viacom has purchased the world wide rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise for a real steal at $60 million. Nickelodeon is now in the process of developing a new animated television series, and a feature film to be released through Paramount Pictures. Its goal with TMNT is to reintroduce the franchise to existing and potential fans across various media platforms. The deal also gives Nick all merchandising rights, and the company will continue to work with the franchise’s longtime partner, Playmates Toys. Both the feature film and animated series are scheduled to arrive in 2012. via THR

A couple of casting announcements have been made for the upcoming Justice Society episode of Smallville.  Michael Shanks, of Stargate fame, has been cast as Hawkman, while Brent Stait of Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods will be donning the golden helmet of Doctor Fate.  Smallville has been pretty notorious for changing up the powers/look of classic DC characters for the television series, so I’m not entirely confident we’ll see either of the actors done their respective costumes for the Geoff Johns penned episode. via Sci-Fi Wire

Forget Captain America and Iron Man, what kids really want to see is Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Misty Knight kickin’ butt and takin’ names on their Saturday morning cartoons.  That’s just what they’ll get this weekend as the Heroes for Hire make their debut on Marvel’s Super Hero Squad Show.  Even though the interpretation of the characters is done in a kid friendly way, and that may not appeal to an older audience, I have to give Marvel and company credit for bringing in a huge list of guest stars to voice characters from the series.  This week it…

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the brains behind Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, are planning on rebooting the Hawaii Five-O franchise for CBS Television. While there probably won’t be any transforming robots, visitors from the stars, or X-Files type conspiracies, one would hope the famous “Book ’em Dano” will survive intact as Steve McGarrett takes on the state’s toughest crimes, and investigates the mob. via Variety
