With Smallville wrapping up its ten year run on the CW, the show is going out with a two-hour finale, on May 13, 2011. “Paying homage to 10 seasons is no small task, and wrapping up each character and story arc has been extremely important to everyone involved in the show,” said executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders.  “We’re excited to be able to make the final moments of SMALLVILLE a television event, as the character we’ve grown up with makes his legendary transformation.” Taking on Darkseid and battling the darkest of his demons, this two-hour event will send…

After seeing Spielberg’s hand in the Super 8 trailer, and now watching this trailer for the upcoming Terra Nova series, I’m starting to think the Great One has run out of ideas and is recycling his past glories. An epic family adventure 85 million years in the making, TERRA NOVA follows an ordinary family embarking on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a daring experiment to save the human race. In the year 2149 the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped, overcrowded and overpolluted. With no known way to reverse the…

It’s not uncommon for television series that are popular in one country to get adapted for the airwaves in another.  The Office, Skins, Being Human, and Life on Mars are just a few that we took from the Brits.  Likewise shows like The Big Bang Theory have been adapted for audiences in other countries, but the one that has to take the cake is Project Popcorn. What?  You’ve never heard of an American show called Project Popcorn?  That’s because you probably know it better as Mystery Science Theater 3000. Check out the intro, that seems eerily familiar, even down to…

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Eric Martsolf (Days of Our Lives) has been hired to play Booster Gold in an upcoming episode of Smallville titled “Booster”.  Joining the hero from the future will be Jaren Brandt Bartlett as Jaime Reyes, the Blue Beetle. Add to this news the rumor that Ted Kord will make an appearance in the episode as well.   Geoff Johns, who is writing the episode, says Kord will be played by Sebastian Spence. It’s really too bad, Warner Bros., DC, and the CW waited until the final two season to start rolling out other DC characters.  Had…

In a late breaking, surprise move, NBC television has given the greenlight to David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman series.  Earlier in the year, NBC had shown interest, but with certain execs leaving, no one would commit to the project.  Now with Bob Greenblatt in place, WBTV has been given the go ahead to take the shelved project and get it into production. The project is described as a reinvention of the iconic D.C. comic in which Wonder Woman — aka Diana Prince — is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all…

According to Deadline, actor Nick Stahl has been signed to the pilot episode of Locke & Key for Fox television.  Stahl will play Duncan Locke, the younger brother of Rendell Locke, who was murdered by a deranged student.  According to the Deadline article, Locke & Key was originally going to see a summer release, but now the studio is considering it for the fall. While I remain cautious over the announcement that the pilot is getting bumped to a later date, the fact that the new schedule has it appearing when more people will be around to watch gives me…
