TALK BACK: The Adventures of Tintin

Steven Spielberg’s take on Herge’s Tintin has arrived in the United States, and is on track to at least make it into the top five for the weekend (hopefully beating out Alvin & the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked).

Tintin and Captain Haddock set off on a treasure hunt for a sunken ship commanded by Haddock’s ancestor. But someone else is in search of the ship.

TALK BACK: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

This weekend, Sherlock Holmes returned to theaters in the latest installment of the Guy Ritchie directed series. Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law reprise their roles of Holmes and Watson as they take on Professor Moriarty.

Even though the summer block buster season has come and gone, there are still plenty of movies to talk about, including this week’s release of Immortals.

Theseus is a mortal man chosen by Zeus to lead the fight against the ruthless King Hyperion, who is on a rampage across Greece to obtain a weapon that can destroy humanity.

TALK BACK: Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #1

Arriving in stores today is the first issue of Ultimate Comics Spider-Man featuring the all-new, all-amazing Miles Morales as Spider-Man.

TALK BACK: Justice League #1

We will bring our Dueling Review coverage of Justice League #1 your way this afternoon when A) we get off work, and B) after we get our butts to the comic book store.  Until then, here’s your chance to talk about Justice League #1.  The midnight release saw long lines at some comic stores, and we learned that it became one of the top download files from the various bittorrent sites an hour after the book went on sale.

The Summer Movie Season is quickly winding down, but there are still movies that are generating a lot of talk.  This weekend, it’s Guillermo del Toro’s Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark directed by Troy Nixey.

A young girl sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend discovers creatures in her new home who want to claim her as one of their own.

The summer 2011 movie season has almost come to a close, but before the door shuts completely, and we hunker down for the dismal fall movie season, H’wood has a few more flicks for us to check out. Today, Rise of the Planet of the Apes arrives in theaters.

An origin story set in present day San Francisco, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.
