Review: City of Dust #2

Orwell was right. So was Stoker, and probably Seuss too.

I imagine that as my son grows older he’ll have just as wild an imagination as his father – or even more so.  I see the signs now as he plays and talks, but I wonder what would happen if imagination were outlawed?  Would I break the law so my son could hear about the adventures of Superman, fables of the tortoise and the hare, or even the monsters that lurk under the bed?  Probably.  And if I lived in the City of Dust I’d be arrested quicker than those idiots you see on Cops.

SDCC’08: Steve Niles Signs At Radical Booth

Steve_Niles_ComicCon.jpg

radicalpublishinglogoI mentioned the Steve Niles signing in passing yesterday, but today the full blown release information has been released.  Niles will indeed be signing at the Radical Publishing booth (#2806) next week during the San Diego Comic-Con.  He will appear two times at the booth:  Friday 1:00-2:00 PM and again on Saturday from 2:30 – 3:30 PM with Arthur Suydam.

Steve Niles will also be part of Radical Publishing’s Comic-Con panel on Friday from 2:30 – 3:30 PM promoting his 48-page prestige format City of Dust.  You’ll also be able to snag a free promotional copy of the issue at the company booth.

“CITY OF DUST blew me away,” exclaimed Barry Levine, Radical Publishing’s President and Publisher. “I love the concept behind Niles’ dark, desperate, dystopian world and the characters that inhabit it.  Detective Philip Khrome is a conflicted soul as only Steve can deliver. Radical is going big with this, we’ve commissioned covers from artists like Arthur Suydam, Clint Langley and Lucio Parrillo to kick off the first issue and expect our fans to reap the benefits from our unique promotional events for this title. It all starts at Comic-Con with our preview book.  I’m so happy to see Steve on board, not only for signing, but to join the names of Jim Steranko and Ian Edginton for our Comic-Con panel.”

Keep checking out the site, because there’s going to be virtual tons of information about SDCC’08 coming out in the next two weeks.
