TELEVISION: NBC says YES to Stan Lee’s Guardian

It seems that anytime Stan Lee attaches his name to anything, people automatically grab onto it thinking it will be the next big Spider-Man, or Fantastic Four, or Striperalla.  NBC is hoping to hit that kind of gold again with Lee’s The Guardian Project.

If you don’t already know, the Guardian Project is a series of superheroes based on the National Hockey League’s 30 teams.  And with the NHL Championship concluding last night, this seems like the perfect time to roll out the announcement.

The conglom has taken a minority equity stake in the property that is being developed as a TV series, films, comicbooks, games, licensed merchandise and theme park attractions.

Tight now everything is in the Promotional Idea stage, but who knows… next year we could see the Vancouver Canuck superhero mascot rise again.. but will probably be stomped on by the Boston Bruin.
