Marvel sent over the cover to Spider-Island: Avengers #1 that arrives in September featuring art by Leinil Francis Yu.
VARIANT COVER: Spider-Man will save your comic shop
With Spider-Island ready to kick into high gear with Amazing Spider-Man #666, Marvel is hoping to get comic shop owners in on the event by creating variant covers specifically for their retail shop.
Shang-Chi battles his way through Spider-Island
Not everyone will be affected/infected by the Spider-Island event, which means there is a lot of potential for mini-series and tie-in issues for the upcoming Marvel Fall event. Shang-Chi and Iron Fist will need to cut their way through the mayhem in Spider-Island: Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #1.
“I’ve been a fan of Shang-Chi for years, so writing Spider-Island: Deadly Hands of Kung Fu is great fun, especially as Shang himself gets spider-powers,” said writer Anthony Johnston. “Then just throw in a little mystery, some gothic horror, a guest appearance by Iron Fist… and more Kung Fu per page than any other Spider-Island book, guaranteed!”

SPIDER-ISLAND: Deadly foes appear on Spider-Island
Marvel sent another teaser image for Spider-Island, this time featuring one of the big villains ready to take advantage of the situation.
“The new Hobgoblin and the Jackal play central roles in Slott and Ramos’ Spider-Island epic. With this double-sized special we’re giving the readers two thrilling, death-defying stories connected directly to Spider-Island’s main artery,” said senior editor Steve Wacker. “This ain’t just a couple origin stories. Chris Gage and Fred Van Lente worked closely with Dan to weave stories that serve to violently expand the main Spider-Island plot.”

Marvel released a teaser image and information regarding Venom’s involvement with Spider-Island.

Rick Remender is pretty tight on who Venom will be taking on in the event, but they are “huge characters”.

Marvel announces Spider-Island: Cloak & Dagger #1
Marvel has announced that the team of Cloak and Dagger will be defending the realm when Spider-Island arrives in August. Morning Glories creator Nick Spencer and artist Emma Rios will team to bring the story to you.
“Nick and Emma are two of the most explosive new talents in comics and they’re matched perfectly on with Cloak and Dagger…two of Marvel’s most exciting characters,” said Marvel Senior Editor Steve Wacker. “ This is the definitely the book to watch coming out of Spider-Island.”

SPIDER-ISLAND: Spider-Girl arrives on Spider-Island this summer
When Spider-Island: The Amazing Spider-Island #1 arrives in August, Anya Corazon will go up against her deadliest enemies. That is all according to Marvel, and writer Paul Tobin.
“It’s a VERY different Spider-Girl that readers will encounter in the pages of Spider-Island: The Amazing Spider-Girl, as the strange outbreak of spider-powers infects her as well… but in very surprising ways,” said writer Paul Tobin. “And when the Society of the Wasp declares full scale war on the new ‘army’ of the spider-powered, Spider-Girl surprisingly finds herself aligned with the Kingpin and Hobgoblin. Even more surprisingly she finds that, maybe…that’s where she most belongs.”
