Dorothy returns to OZ in September
Marvel has announced that Dorothy returns to OZ in September, as Eric Shanower and Skottie Young return to the OZ universe.
“I really look forward to following Dorothy, the Wizard, and their newest friends on their underground adventures in Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz,” said Shanower in a prepared statement. “I can’t wait to see what Skottie comes up with when he shows us the bizarre vegetable people, the soundless wooden gargoyles, and how he’ll deal with the valley of invisibility.”
Set off by the great 1906 San Francisco earthquake Dorothy, joined by her cat Eureka, are transported back to the imaginative new world of Oz where anything is possible! But when Dorothy and her friends find themselves trapped in a realm made of glass, The Wizard of Oz must come to their rescue.
The eight part series will have several variant covers, with the first issue featuring a $3.99 cover price.

Studios (now Marvel) comic book series, and partially to the upcoming Muppet movie from long time puppet fan Jason Segel. The Eric Shanower/Skottie Young Oz series is really well done, and the latest installment, The Marvelous Land of Oz #1, has sold out at the distributor level and is going back to press for another run. If your store sold out, be on the look out for the second edition arriving December 09, 2009.
