Dimension Films announced today that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (LOOPER, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES) is joining the all-star cast as one of the lead characters in the highly anticipated SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. The film is the follow up to co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s 2005 visually groundbreaking film, FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY. Other major casting announcements will continue to follow.
Dimension Films announced that Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has a release date set for 2013.
The word from Robert Rodriguez during the San Diego Comic Con was that Sin City 2 was in the works. Today, we learn that William Monahan, the Oscar winning screenwriter for The Departed, has been hired to work on the script to bring it closer to production.
During his panel at the San Diego Comic Con, Robert Rodriguez announced that Frank Miller has indeed completed the script for Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For. The sequel will not only include an adaptation of the Sin City arc, but two new stories set in the world of Sin City. Rodriguez revealed that the title for one of them will be The Long Bad Night.
Because Rodriguez basically controls all means of production and shoots most of it on green screen, the director stated that the film could begin shooting as early as later this year.

What would happen if the Disney Princesses were recast in Frank Miller’s Sin City?

Red Mile Entertainment has announced it has entered into a licensing agreement to develop and publish video games based on Frank Miller’s Sin City.
“Taking Sin City into the world of video games is very exciting – games offer a whole new way to bring audiences into Sin City,” said Frank Miller. “The Red Mile team has impressed me with its dedication to creating Sin City video games that will remain true to Sin City as I’ve always seen it.”
Huh… a Sin City video game. My bet is there is going to be tons of violence and I would guess there will also be plenty of nudity should the lead character head to any of the local bars ala Dame to Kill For.
