I’ll admit it, I’ve never had high hopes for the Krypton series set to debut on the Syfy network, but a new bit of news coming from the San Diego Comic Con has me all kinds of interested.

First, I need to give my yearly advice to people buying gifts for comics fans, especially late ones! Do NOT try to buy an item you THINK they might want! Chances are, they either have it or don’t wait it if they haven’t already bought it. Instead, locate their local comics shop and buy a gift card! They’ll be able to purchase what they want, so they’ll love you for it! Phew! Okay, now we can move on to the topic at hand – This is a great time to be a comics fan! That’s so true on several levels!
SEVEN24 Films and IDW Entertainment announced today that Syfy has acquired the U.S. rights to Wynonna Earp, a live action television series based on the IDW Publishing comic created by Beau Smith. Emily Andras (Lost Girl, Killjoys) developed the series for television and will serve as Executive Producer and Showrunner.

Salvagers is a high-octane blue-collar sci-fi comic coming from creators Bob Salley and George Acevedo. This week during my landmark 175th episode, I chat with both of them about their successful series, with the fourth issue of the Salvagers: Abandoned Cargo miniseries coming out soon.
