MOVIE: Sin City 2 may shoot later this year

During his panel at the San Diego Comic Con, Robert Rodriguez announced that Frank Miller has indeed completed the script for Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For.  The sequel will not only include an adaptation of the Sin City arc, but two new stories set in the world of Sin City.  Rodriguez revealed that the title for one of them will be The Long Bad Night.

Because Rodriguez basically controls all means of production and shoots most of it on green screen, the director stated that the film could begin shooting as early as later this year.

Jessica Alba … in leather…

There’s a new Spy Kids movie coming our way, and while we (meaning me) doesn’t give a crap if the young kids are now all growed up, I am interested in Jessica Alba as the villain… dressed in leather…

Yes, you can make this image bigger by clicking.

According to IMDB the plot of the film features mom returning to the life of spying

A mother returns to her old profession — she’s a retired spy — in order to prevent a villain bent on stopping time.

Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World is written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, and is scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 19, 2011.

RUMOR: Will Rodriguez direct Deadpool

There is a lot of talk and discussion about whether or not Robert Rodriguez will direct the Deadpool movie for 20th Century Fox.  I don’t know whether a comment by Rodriguez at the San Diego Comic Con got everyone in a tizzy, or if the director and Fox have really come to an agreement, but the L.A. Times is running the story that the parties are sitting down for some serious negotiations.  Now negotiations are a far cry from a done deal, especially when there are specific items that need to be addressed by both sides.

It would be great to see Rodriguez stretch his legs and explore the more adult side of the capes and tights genre as opposed to his Lavagirl and Sharkboy movie.

What say you Spoilerites? Does a Rodriguez directed Deadpool movie sit right with you?

Your not so pervy Lindsay Lohan Machete image

You’ve already seen the pervy promo poster of Lindsay Lohan all dressed up in her nun garb, now, Film Total has found an image of what LiLo actually looks like in the film.

There’s certainly not a lot to be sussed from this image, but I figured we better offer some counter to the first.

Brody takes on Predators

Variety is reporting that actor Adrien Brody has been cast as the lead in Robert Rodriguez Predator movie relaunch.  This is quite a bit different than Arnold Schwartzenegger’s role from 1987.  Also starring in the movie will be Alice Braga, Danny Trejo, Walton Goggins, Oleg Taktarov, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, and Louiz Ozawa.

Predator is expected to hit theaters on July 9, 2010.

Robert Rodriguez Brings Machete to the Screen, Relaunches Predator Series

macheteposter.jpg

Variety is reporting Robert Rodriguez is taking the Machete trailer from his Grindhouse film, and turning it into a feature length movie.  Danny Trejo will play the lead character, with Rodriguez expected to start filming in June.

Machete is a Mexican ex-Federale with a gift for wielding a blade, who hides out as a day laborer, who is double-crossed by a corrupt state senator.

In addition to that bit of news, Variety also reports that the producer/director/editor/graphic artist/musician/grip/gaffer/catterer/fill in any other job Rodriguez does himself here has written the script for the relaunch of the Predator series for 20th Century Fox.  This I find really interesting, because the last round of Aliens vs. Predator didn’t totally suck balls, and in fact made quite a bit of money for the studio.

For now it looks like Rodriguez is only writing the Predator script.

SDCC’08: Red Sonja Teaser Poster

red_sonja_poster.jpg

Even though it was only announced a few weeks ago, the first Red Sonja teaser poster was released at San Diego Comic Con.  Originally scheduled for 2010, it looks like we might see the movie a year earlier than expected.  I’m still not convinced Rose is the best She Devil with a Sword, but if she can bring life to the Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith creation, and do it right, then I’ll see it.
