Review: Ultimate Spider-Man Annual #3

Review: DC Universe Halloween Special

Review: Blue Beetle #32

Secret origins are fun I miss the days when comic books would spend an issue telling the back story of how the latest villain of the week became the villain of the week.  It was fun to discover how that person was wronged or what led him down the path to evil, and best of all it was all revealed in a single issue.  After reading Blue Beetle #32, those good ol’ days are back again.

Review: Tangent: Superman’s Reign #8

Parallel world’s are not always a good thing I find it ironic that I sat down to read Tangent: Superman’s Reign #8, and then less than an hour later found myself watching the latest episode of Nova talking about Hugh Everett and his parallel theory of quantum physics.  I would hate to think the events were a coincidence, but it does make you wonder what would happen if someone were given the powers of Superman and decided to end all the world’s problems.

Review: Ultimate Spider-Man #127

Sometimes life just kicks you in the teeth for fun Even though Peter Parker is the everyman hero that we can all sympathize with, I in no way would ever want to be Peter Parker.  The kid can’t catch a break.  If it isn’t some huge international military agency keeping tracks on your every move, it’s the villain of the week trying to wreck your day, and to top it all off, just when you think you’re going to make with the snoo-snoo with that hot red head Mary Jane, your personal stalker shows up.

Advanced Review: Hexed #1

Now that is creepy…  More please. There really aren’t enough good titles covering the various supernatural realms.  Sandman concluded years ago, as did Preacher, and while Buffy the Vampire Slayer continues to rock, Shadowpact got the axe.  Cthulhu Tales delivers the chilling supernatural sure to give the reader nightmares, but when it comes to supernatural thriller crime stories, the cupboard is pretty bare.  So, when Boom! Studios sent me an advanced copy of Hexed by Michael Alan Nelson with art by Emma Rios, I knew it was worth checking out, even if I am generally wary of titles I know…

Review: Secret Invasion #7 (of 8)
