MOVIES: Snow Crash getting the film treatment?

There are few books that have had a huge impact on my life, but Neal Stephenson’s Snow Crash was a tale that capture my imagination in the pre-dawn Internet days, when everything was still green, and 3600 was the way the cool kids connected to the cyber world.  So imagine how surprised I was when I learned H’wood was pushing ahead with a movie adaptation.  The same H’wood that made Johnny Mnemonic… granted, that was a different writer, but still…

MOVIES: Ninja Turtles movie to start shooting this year

Though there are a number of fans totally against Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles movie, the studios and director are moving ahead.  Paramount Pictures has announced that principal photography for the movie kicks off this summer.

MOVIES: Duke’s death the cause for delay

Remember last week, when we learned that Paramount had yanked G.I. JOE: Retaliation from theaters?  The official reason was to do some 3D-ifying to the flick to sell it to foreign audiences.  Thanks to Deadline, we now know the real reason.

MOVIES: Michael Bay sez “It’s Ninja Turtles, live with it”

So you may have heard there is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie coming out from Michael Bay.  And you may have heard that the heroes in a half-shell are no longer mutants, but rather aliens from beyond.  It looked like the fervor was settling down over that announcement, until we found out TMNT isn’t going to be called TMNT at all, but simply, Ninja Turtles.

Michael Bay has something to say about that, too.

MOVIES: Transformers 4 confirmed, Michael Bay on board

There was a lot of speculation running wild yesterday regarding the status of another Transformers movie.  Fortunately, Michael Bay addressed the blogosphere, the Twitterverse, and the Intardwebz, that confirmed our worst fear – Transformers 4 is real.
