Totally missed this on Friday (don’t ask, don’t tell policy in place big time on that one), but in its further attempts to acquire a monopoly over my entire childhood, Disney has acquired the rights to Indiana Jones from Paramount Pictures.
A wise man once said, “Never pay full price for late pizza.” I’m hoping we can transfer that logic to movie theater tickets as Paramount has decided to push the release date for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie back.
What will happen at the end of Iron Man 3? Whatever it is, it has Joss Whedon wondering what he’s going to do in Avengers 2, and the new poster looks epic, but also feels like something alarming is about to happen.
More awesomeness from Marvel, as the second trailer for Iron Man 3 arrives in HD along with the new domestic poster for the flick.
I almost missed seeing the Star Trek trailer, but then the lights went out at the Super Bowl, and suddenly Paramount had the best Into Darkness plug they could ever get. Take the jump for the trailer that aired during the game.
There are few books that have had a huge impact on my life, but Neal Stephenson’s Snow Crash was a tale that capture my imagination in the pre-dawn Internet days, when everything was still green, and 3600 was the way the cool kids connected to the cyber world. So imagine how surprised I was when I learned H’wood was pushing ahead with a movie adaptation. The same H’wood that made Johnny Mnemonic… granted, that was a different writer, but still…
As the RoboCop remake draws ever closer to production, word out of H’wood has another well known actor joining the cast.
Though there are a number of fans totally against Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles movie, the studios and director are moving ahead. Paramount Pictures has announced that principal photography for the movie kicks off this summer.
Remember last week, when we learned that Paramount had yanked G.I. JOE: Retaliation from theaters? The official reason was to do some 3D-ifying to the flick to sell it to foreign audiences. Thanks to Deadline, we now know the real reason.
SPOILERS AHEAD… kinda…
This is really surprising news – G.I. JOE: Retaliation was scheduled to arrive in theaters next month (June 29), but suddenly, Paramount has pulled the flick from the 2012 rotation and moved it to 2013.
So you may have heard there is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie coming out from Michael Bay. And you may have heard that the heroes in a half-shell are no longer mutants, but rather aliens from beyond. It looked like the fervor was settling down over that announcement, until we found out TMNT isn’t going to be called TMNT at all, but simply, Ninja Turtles.
Michael Bay has something to say about that, too.
