When they first faded away back in 2015, I wrote a column that I was fine with them taking a break until the House of Ideas put together a concept that would be worth the time and money. It’s probably no secret by now that both ComiXology and Marvel have begun their own “unlimited” digital comics services, each adding new books on a regular basis. Granted, ComiXology has comics from several companies, and it’s no surprise to anyone that the House of Ideas offers their own products. They are, however, working together on some levels. I’m conflicted when it comes to these services. Let me tell you why.

Once again, I must apologize for being late with this column. I was in Kansas City for Planet Comicon, which I enjoyed greatly, but con crud caught up with me as I was heaving 40-pound boxes in the bitter cold. I was doomed! Since then, however, Marvel has yet again decided to give their books another new start.

One of the best-attended panels was about the upcoming Marvel Black Panther film, due to be released this weekend!

It wasn’t that long ago that I often used to leave my local comics shop with an empty wallet and the back seat of my car full of comics-related items that I treasured. These days, I pretty much buy only comics. I spend each week about half of what I used to on maquettes, statues and figures. (The exception is those terrific Batman: The Animated Series figures and vehicles, of course!) What happened? Where did they go?

As previously mentioned here in an article and here in another piece at MajorSpoilers.com, Superman’s red trunks are coming back! It will take place in Action Comics #1000.

However, as you can see by the reactions even to that latter article, not everyone is happy this is taking place.
