New Avengers – The Reunion
Or – “Off To Meet My Doom, Mom! See You After School!” Comic book publishing schedules puzzle me. The Twelve hasn’t come out in what seems like a year, while Agents of Atlas is apparently on a bi-weekly status, and Spider-Man is coming out every sixteen minutes or so. Wolverine alone accounts for half the forests destroyed in the United States every month. The major publishers can’t seem to decide whether it’s a market for the celebrity auteur writer, or whether it’s the characters who sell the books regardless of creator. Or – “When The Heck Did This Happen, Anyway?” The story in which Mockingbird died took place around 1994 or so, if my memories are correct.Â I recall reading it while I was in college, in any case, and being annoyed at the art and by how cavalierly the character was offed.Â What this means for Secret Invasion and for this mini Â is that, somehow, even in Marvel time, the Skrulls plans have had to be in play for YEAAAARS.Â Â So many years, in fact, that the changes in the Marvel U would make the whole thing moot anyway.Â Â One
