I love Indiana Jones.  Love the first three movies, the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles on television, and the comic books.  Just listen to the Major Spoilers Podcast about all things Indy, and it is clear nothing did more in my formative years than Dr. Jones cracking the whip, cracking wise, and cracking the heads of Nazis. While I liked Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I didn’t care for Mutt Williams (aka Shia LaDoof) one bit.  And the very hint that there might be a Mutt Williams franchise based off of this has me sick to my…

I loved Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, and apparently so did everyone else, as a sequel is in the works. The rumblings you’ve been hearing in the criminal underground since July indeed are true: At long last, we are seeking new applicants to the League.1 Aspirants to new heights of Evil should submit an application video that meets the…

That’s the surprising news from Variety this morning, which has the famed Shakespearean actor/director in talks with Marvel Studios to helm the Thor adaptation for a 2010 release. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige’s choice of Branagh is surprising, as Branagh hasn’t really directed an action-heavy film since his debut on “Henry V,” a bloody telling of the British king’s conquest of France. Marvel has yet to announce who will play the blond haired Norse god, and many wild rumors have circulated with everyone from Matthew McConaughey to Matt Damon to Brad Pitt playing the lead. via Variety

Sad news for Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, Universal Pictures has decided to pull out of the three picture deal for the CGI adaptation of Tintin.  The biggest reason for the break in the deal wasn’t Spielberg trying to break DreamWorks away from Paramount, but the $130 million budget.  In a day an age where $130 million seems like a drop in the bucket for a franchise that could literally net Universal ten times that in world wide distribution, something certainly seems fishy. Perhaps it was the 30% of gross Spielberg and Jackson wanted – meaning Tintin would have to…
