When Eastman and Laird first created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles way back in the ’80s, I’m guessing the never expected the success of their product to turn into a mega movie franchise that would take the mutated garden turtles and change the origin to be from outer space.
If you are dying for four hours of behind the scenes footage from Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the Ultimate Edition DVD arrives January 31, 2012. Take the jump for the complete rundown of the four disc DVD collection.
Those who have eagle eyes and actually sat through Transformers 3, noticed something odd about one of the sequences – it looks exactly like a scene from Michael Bay’s other film, The Island.
Wow… what does that say about the Transformers series? That it’s nothing but recycled garbage? That Michael Bay doesn’t care about crafting a good movie? That all explosions and car accidents are alike, and therefore there’s no need to spend money on new effects? Or could it be that some special effects guys were running behind and tried to slip one by us?
Love it or hate it, the latest installment of Transformers has already set box office records for 2011. In its first full day of release, Transformers: Dark of the Moon has already brought in $37.315 million in box office sales, beating Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, as the biggest single day grosser for the year. Worldwide, the movie has already amassed a whopping $79.4 million, and considering this is a major holiday weekend for the United States (Independence Day) and Canada (Canada Day), expect the ticket sales to continue to climb.
We’ve seen bit and pieces of Sentienal Prime from the upcoming Transformers 3 movie, and we know Leonard Nimoy is providing the voice for old Autobots leader. Now we get to check out a full on, high-resolution render of the character who looks pretty kick-ass.
Remember when Leonard Nimoy said he was retiring from acting, then he showed up on Fringe? Yeah… good times. Remember, after his appearances on Fringe, he said he was retiring again? Turns out the script for Transformers: Dark of the Moon is so F-ing incredible that Nimoy has come out of retirement to provide the voice of Sentinel Prime.
This isn’t the first time the thespian (it’s another word for actor your giggling pervs!) has dipped his toes into the Transformers universe. Those of you old enough to remember the 1986 movie already know that Nimoy voiced Galvatron in the movie that killed Optimus Prime on screen… oh, right… SPOILERS! Too late? Too bad. That movie came out 25 years ago.
We only have to wait until July 1st to see Transformers: Dark of the Moon in theaters.
Yesterday, we showed off the new line of Transformer toys from Hasbro. As the show was closing, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley showed up with director Michael Bay, and the two checked out the new toys for themselves.
I really didn’t want to post the latest trailer for the third Transformers movie, Dark of the Moon, but after three or four viewings (thanks to my son of course), I’ve decided to let you voice your joy or concern over what you see.
