Expect to see a lot of Green Lantern toys on the store shelves as the movie draws ever closer.  Mattel is showing off the new Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern figure (over at Daily Blam) and it doesn’t look terrible. At least they didn’t simply rip the head off the DCUC Green Lantern, give it a paint job, and pop a Reynolds head on it. And speaking of Green Lantern and the DCUC figures, Blackest night is appearing in Wave 17 of the popular series.  Take the jump for a look at all those figures, including the Black Lantern Hal Jordan…

Oh man, oh man! Mattel is showing off a new Justice League Unlimited 2-pack featuring Darkseid’s Parademons. While I really like DCU Classics version of the Parademon, this JLU version looks pretty sharp, and may be a harbinger of some very cool things to come. (Yes, that is a major hint of more figures hitting soon). While the 2-pack may be enough for many of you, if you want to create your own Parademon army, you’re going to be in luck as Matty Collector is limiting sales to 10 per customer – that 20 Parademons! I know what I want…

Just a few more days until Back to the Future turns 25 years old, and it finally looks like we’ll get to see action figures and other toys based on the series.  Global License magazine reports that Universal has created licensing deals with several companies. Included in the list Back to the Future action figures, accessories, and toy vehicles – MATTEL Die-cast vehicles – WELLY DIE CASTING Back to the Future interactive games – TELLTALE GAMES Universal actually announced many other deals for other properties, but I don’t think Smokey & the Bandit die-cast vehicles trumps the BTTF news. Or…

There have been some really weird crossover comics, until I wandered down the toy aisle and saw the Superman vs. He-Man action figure two pack, I completely forgot that the two actually met in a DC crossover event in 1982.  Back then, Superman was able to bring He-Man down with a well placed punch, but both characters have gone through an evolution since then.  So… FIGHT! Take the jump for the complete gallery of figures.

I really love the life size and larger than life sized statues that the booths utilize during their major shows.  Here is Mattel’s Prince Adam ready for today’s attendees to stand around shouting “I have the POWER!” Like I’m sure he’s never heard that one before… I wonder what these companies do with the statues after the convention season is over? via Mattel

If there is one action figure package I want from SDCC’10, it has got to be the Starro mega-pack that features a bendable Starro (that I hear can fit over your own face for crazy hijinks) and five action figures that pay homage to The Brave and the Bold #28. While this figures themselves are going to rock in only the way that Mattel can serve up, it’s the packaging itself that might have many needing to buy two – one for the figures, the other for the awesome Kevin Conroy recording that is just a button push away.

Hot Wheels has announced that the Brave and the Bold Batmobile is set to arrive in stores at the end of the month, which is just around the same time as a rather big comic book convention in San Diego, California.  I bet if you look hard enough at the show you’ll be able to find one… Gallery after the jump!

When Mattel released Green Arrow, the first figure in the Retro-Action DC line, it quickly sold out as the figure had the look and feel of the old MEGO figures from the 1970s.  The company posted photos of the Wave 2 collection that features Batman, Two-Face, Aquaman, and Black Manta.  Will they sell out as well?

In a press release sent out by Warner Bros. yesterday, the company announced a deal with Mattel that gives the toy company access to the entire vault of DC Comics characters, including Green Lantern, to develop toys from the property. Mattel will continue with Batman: The Brave and The Bod, and DC Super Friends, and is in the process of developing a Young Justice line along with other toy lines. “The sheer volume of the DC Comics property portfolio lends itself to an incredible array of consumer offerings,” said Brad Globe, president, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “As master licensee, Mattel…
