When Fear Itself gets around to Spider-Man this May, Christopher Yost and Mike McKone put the web slinger front and center as the last hero standing. “Everything I’ve seen so far from Fear Itself has given me chills,” said Editor Stephen Wacker. “Yost who really found the way into the story by pinpointing the sheer humanity of Spidey and the fact that Fear Itself would affect Peter Parker more deeply than just about any other hero.”

Lately, whenever I see a book advertised as an 80-page Giant issue, I’m pretty skeptical as there have been a lot of story reprints in those collections.  Marvel claims that the upcoming Avengers Academy Giant Size #1 features an all new story that looks at the next generation of Marvel heroes. “This story brings together our most popular teen heroes and fan favorite creators for a truly giant-size story set right in the thick of the Marvel Universe at an incredibly affordable price.” said David Gabriel, Marvel’s SVP of Sales & Circulation. “There’s simply no publisher today putting out this…

Character would work closely with Jackson’s Nick Fury, and eventually becomes the head of the espionage and law enforcement group. You’ve probably seen Smulders in How I Met Your Mother on CBS, and if you followed the rumor mill back when Joss Whedon was working on Wonder Woman she was one of the contenders for the role. via…

Sometimes I see what needs to be seen, and other times I’m standing in the bathroom for hours staring at those damn Magic Eye posters waiting for the butterfly to appear. Thanks to Hector for the tip!

Or – “Pork Chop Sandwiches?!?!!??” I clearly remember the thunderbolt that was G.I. Joe on my personal preteen cultural zeitgeist circa 1982.  I’d had some dealings with comic books, but issue #1 of G.I. Joe was a MUST-HAVE.  The cartoon commercials led to purchase of the toys led to obsessive watching of the cartoon led to trying (and failing) to get my first comic book subscription.  I still fondly remember hangining out with my cousin Elwood in my grandfather’s boat, deciding that nobody got to be Snake-Eyes and instead making up our own Joe team members.  There are really only…
