Just received the PR packet from Diamond regarding the next issue of Previews, and it triggered two things in my head – first, my latest order is now past due, and second, it looks like after Marvel’s Fear Itself ends, The Fearless begins.

Marvel continues to throw down the gauntlet when it comes to trying to best DC at every turn. During Marvel’s Next Big Thing, Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso said of the upcoming Ultimate line, “You’ll have to just buy three books to get one universe and not 52.” Them are some strong words. Press Release The second day of the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con featured yet another stunning announcement from IDW Publishing: the company’s second Marvel Artist’s Edition collection, JOHN ROMITA’S THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. This must-have collector’s hardcover is the fourth in IDW’s Artist’s Edition series and will offer one hundred and forty-four pages of original Romita Spider-Man art.
During the Marvel Digital: What’s Next panel, Marvel dropped the big one that I was half expecting to come about a month ago – it will release it’s major titles digitally on the same day the books arrive in stores.
Marvel is letting everyone know that The Avengers are assembling thanks to a series of Avengers images that have arrived. These are concept art pieces, but in them, you get a look at Captain America’s duds (of the future).
Over at the Diamond Select Toys booth, the company is showing off the 42nd series of Marvel Minimates (aka Toys R Us Wave 12).
First it was the official HD trailer, now we get a look at the first poster for the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man. The movie opens July 03, 2012.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is just around the corner, and we’ve found out who the players will be on each side (hint: cast your gaze upwards for the Marvel characters). Also, take the jump for the trailer, and more.
Expect to see more Avengers posters over the next year, as Marvel Studios prepares for the May 04, 2012 release.
I’m still surprised by the DC/Marvel/LEGO news, and while we don’t have images of the minifigure line yet, LEGO did send us a teaser video for the line.
WOW! I was pretty excited about the announcement that LEGO has teamed with Warner Bros., but now we learn that the toy manufacturer has also teamed with Marvel Entertainment. THIS IS A REALLY BIG DEAL! If everything comes together in this LEGO SUPER HERO line, expect to see a lot of epic battles between Spider-Man and Batman!
