VIDEO GAME REVIEW: Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters

I got a chance to play Rise of the Manhunters, the Green Lantern movie tie-in game for X-Box 360. Now I’ve played some superhero games in the past that didn’t live up to the character they were trying to recreate, so I went in with a lot of expectations (some might say demands) for the game. Here’s a list of specific (and largely unreasonable) things I wanted out of this video-type-game

Review: God of War #1

God of War is based on the hit Sony Playstation video game series by the same name and tells the tale of Kratos, Sparta’s mightiest warrior and his adventures before he became a servant of the gods. This God of War comic is a prequel to the franchise and, just like the games, is rated for mature readers. For those of you, who are yet to play God of War 3, fear not. This comic spoils none of the game.

Teen Titans: Games announced for 2010

There’s a new New Teen Titans original graphic novel headed your way in 2010, and it pairs George Perez and Marv Wolfman together again.

“It’s all the regular Titans, obviously because the story was plotted back then it’s Troia, in that costume, Nightwing, Cyborg, Changeling, Danny Chase, Jericho, Starfire, and a number of others but they’re all there. This isn’t a big surprise,” said Marv Wolfman.  “What this really is, is the uncovered story that had been done at the height of the Titans. And except for the actual dialoguing, that’s exactly what it is. Because as I said, George drew 80 of the pages back then.”

Review: Captain America Reborn #4 (of 5 And/Or Possibly 6)

Or – “Former Captain America Steve Rogers Is STILL Dead, But That Could Change At Any Moment…”

CA2_copy.jpg

The most recent Previews gives us the news that this series will be running an additional issue before the Captain America series restarts in January with #602.  (It’s really NOT #602, by the way…)  Steve Rogers’ return to the land of the living is pretty much fait accompli, and the solicitations have already given us hints of what he’s going to do once he’s actually returned from the bleedin’ choir invisibule.  Of course, the main problem we have is that at this point in time, HE’S NOT ACTUALLY BACK YET.  Wanna see how this all works out?  Read on, MacDuff, and let slip the squirrels of war.

Marv Wolfman Moves to Vigilante

nightwing136.jpgWhen Vigilante made his appearance in Nightwing, I wasn’t too excited about him. After the events of the last issue, I’m a little more interested, but I wonder if I’m ready for yet another DC title in my stack?

Marv Wolfman is leaving Nightwing to work on Vigilnte, which is a surprise, but according to Wolfman, fans should probably check Vig out.

…one of the biggest aspects of the comic that will affect the entire DC line. As Vig moves through a very real and gritty New York underworld, he will very quickly discover that some DC character has actually turned against the other heroes. We already know who that character is, and the impact the character has on the rest of the DCU will become apparent in a matter of months. This is a story with far reaching tentacles and it begins in Vigilante #1.
