A very full week of comics, reviews, and news as we inch ever closer to the San Diego Comic-Con. Sunday: XS gets an entry in the Hero History roster. Monday: Transformers do incredibly well at the box office and get the animation treatment, Hawkman gets his own JLU figure, DC launches a Web Comic portal. Tuesday: The complete schedule for the San Diego Comic Con is released, and Ash lands in werewolf land. You asked for it, and we responded! It’s the Major Spoilers Dictionary! Now you too can play at home and laugh along at all the inside jokes and references made on this site. Don’t know what Bat-Dickness is? We have the rating system! What is a Tom Grice? That’s here too! And who could forget the ever popular Superboy Tom Welling? The list is small right now, but we’ll add to it…eventually… The Major Spoilers Dictionary can be found in the menu to the right! or you could just click here (sigh)
It was a pretty awesome week here at Major Spoilers as we celebrated our first birthday, got to see transformers, had the pleasure in reading a lot of comics. Sunday: See where Stephen’s passion for comics began with the Retro Review of World’s Finest #271, and Matthew checks in with another installment of Major Spoilers Hero History, this time checking out Dream Girl. Monday: Supergirl is elected leader, and the Transformers get the greeen light for a sequel even amongst controversy. Tuesday: It’s all about the big tour, as readers get their first look at Major Spoilers HQ. Did I
Nerds of Doom! Every serious collector and reader of comics probably has a nerd room, as my wife calls it, that contains all the treasures you have collected over the years. If you are super lucky, that room is separate from everything else in the house/apartment and you have control over the decor. In honor of Major Spoilers Birthday Week, Matthew and I thought it would be fun to give you a tour of Stately Spoiler Manner.
This week (July 3rd to be exact) Major Spoilers celebrates its first birthday. When I started this site a year ago, my hope was to create a place where fans could come to find news, reviews, and interviews about the comic and related industries. Little did I know what fun I was about to embark on and all the wonderful people I would meet along the way.
Or – “Where it all began…” This week Major Spoilers celebrates its first birthday! Woohoo! While Major Spoilers may be one year old this week, my love of comics began way back 1981. We were on a family vacation – you know the kind of vacation where you pack everyone into a camper and travel the highways and byways of this great country seeing the sites. I believe it was the summer we did the old west tour of Deadwood, Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Tetons, and of course Frontier Days in Cheyenne. It was on one of the many
Our non-scientific poll has closed, and fans have responded: They want Wally West back in the pages of the Flash! Of course the poll ends just in time for Flash: The Fastest Man Alive #13 to arrive, marking the end of the series. Will Bart die? Is Wally really coming back, or will it be pre-Crisis Barry Allen? Come back on Wednesday for our first day release review of Flash for all the answers. And with the closing of the Flash poll, it’s time to turn our attention to Marvel and one Tony Stark. Is Tony a Skrull? Take the
Memorial Day is a time to remember those who fell in the service of liberty, regardless of your personal politics, geographical location, or your feelings on any given world leader. To that end, we at stately Spoilers Manor, would like to wish all y’all the best, and remember those who have gone before. With that in mind (and with all due respect to the non-fictional soldiers), there is one character whose passing should, in my mind, be recognized today… And to all our international Spoilerites, Happy Monday! A Hero History is on it’s way… Even though the U.S. Mail might have
Apparently the discussion surrounding the hackability (for lack of a better word) of the Harvey Dent campaign website we posted earlier this week has been proven hackable and it looks like the Joker is behind it all. Take a peek at www.ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com/ and see what that clown prince of crime has done to the site. OR if you are daring enough, enter your email address and the code to have the image strip away pixel by pixel to reveal a shocking surprise. Or you could just take the jump and see the results for yourself. (Personally, I’d take the jump
This last month has been busier than expected. Last weekend I flew out to the National Association of Broadcasters meeting in Las Vegas, now this weekend, I’ll be spending all day Saturday, and probably most of Sunday moving to some new digs. Next weekend I’ll be busy with more silly stuff, then the weekend after that (May 5) is the Planet Comicon in Kansas City, followed by the graduation season. Lots going on, but even if I do get behind, remember I’ll get caught up eventually…
Matthew is getting close to figuring out what event I am attending for one of my other jobs. Today, I thought I’d give you another major clue. This cover from Flash: The Fastest Man Alive features the Flash and Inertia battling it out. Put all the clues together (and do a Google search if you have to), and I’m sure you’ll figure it out in no time. One should also note the reflections in the windows of the Flamingo are not an accurate portrayal of the surroundings.
It is Sunday, and I’m busy running from one press conference to another, eating fine food, and listening to PR people talk their talk as they attempt to wow me with their wares. If you haven’t figured out where I am yet, here is another clue. If you haven’t figured it out yet, there will be yet another clue dropped tomorrow.
