There’s an interesting Kickstarter project I found the other day by Brian Augustyn, editor of Gotham by Gaslight from DC Comics.
Designer, model and now horror writer, Jennifer J. Hartsoe enters the comic book industry with her debut graphic novel a zombie apocalypse tale called Hell Riot: Zombie Hunter X! A few of you might have contributed to the Shadowrun Returns Kickstarter that took place during April of 2012 (and raised over $1.8 million), and if you did your contributions will are making their way into reality as Harebrained Schemes will be releasing the game next week. In the mean time, Harebrained has released a trailer to get all gamers excited about the return of this RPG.
We all know the terror that is the Slender Man. But we also know how cute terrifying things can be in plush form, and for some of us the Slender Man will be that way. For others it will probably still be terrifying, but either way you can take the jump for a look and a link.
This week, at the San Diego Comic-Con, James Deen will premiere the first trailer for his Kickstarter project, Cowboys & Engines.
In the comic book world, the script writing options have been limited to a time consuming word processor or an expensive screenwriting program that doesn’t fulfill all the specialized needs of comics. No longer. Soon, more affordable software, solely dedicated to the needs of the comic book and graphic novel writer, will unshackle the methods of the past. What is that software coming to save the day? It’s ComiXwriter™!
We here at Major Spoilers love both comics (obviously) and gaming, so when the fantastic webcomic Goblins announced a game being made from the property, I was rather excited. The comic itself has been going since 2005, is based off of Dungeons and Dragons (I wonder where we can find more in that vein), and follows a number of goblins (of course) who decide to become adventurers in order to better protect their tribe. Sounds rife for a game right? Well, take the jump and find out.
A few weeks ago, Minion Games put up a Kickstarter campaign for 2-inch soft foam dice. While we missed telling you about it then, you still have a week left to get in before your time is up. Take the jump for more details.
Lady Sabre has battled hordes of goons, faced down destroyer zeppelins, fought giant mechanical monsters, and soon it looks as though she’ll have another victory under her belt—a successful Kickstarter campaign.
Sing a song of geekery,
A pocket full of die
Imaginations running wild
There’s nothing we won’t try..
(Sung like Sing a Song of Sixpence)
Geeky nursery rhymes. Something I never knew I always wanted. Seriously, check out more about this super creative project after the jump.
Everyone has a creative endeavor of some sort, and everyone gets writer’s block on occasion, no matter how good they are. How would you like a simple, randomized way of helping to get past that block, whatever you may be doing? If you’d like that, then take the jump and find out what it is.
You all enjoy a good live-play podcast right? What am I saying? Of course you do. Why else would you be listening to me on Critical HIt? Well, since we know you enjoy this type of thing, we here at Major Spoilers felt we should point out a way you can help in getting another one going.
Nerd’s Domain is a group of people quite like what we have here. When I went to GenCon last summer, one of the more fulfilling and entertaining things I did there was meet Matt Quiett, the man in charge over there, and a number of the other people that are going to be doing this podcast (I’m really bad with names sometimes, so I apologize for not knowing which). They are a fun group of people with the gaming experience needed to create something awesome. As well as being a likable group, they are going to be running in the Call of Cthulu 6th Edition and (at least initially) will be running the adventure Masks of Nyarlathotep, allowing you all to see something truly different from what we do here.
So take a look at what they’re doing over on Kickstarter and see if you can’t help get another good live-play going.
