More than two decades after its television premiere, the popular Ruby-Spears Superman animated series returns to TV screens via Warner Home Video as a two-disc DVD collection of cartoons. The DVD is available today, November 3. Debuting in 1988, the Ruby-Spears Superman series brought back some familiar foes and new unfriendly faces for battles against the Man of Steel. In addition to the thrills of Superman’s weekly adventures, each episode included a mini-segment called Superman Family Album that told the “real†story of what it was like to grow up as the most powerful boy in Smallville.
In February 2008, DC Comics launched the Tiny Titans series which became an instant success. The book recently won the Eisner award for “best publication for kidsâ€. Screenwriter Stan Berkowitz guides another classic DC Comics graphic novel to animated glory with the September 29 Warner Home Video release of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies. Berkowitz brought Darwyn Cooke’s landmark Justice League: The New Frontier from pages to screen in 2008, and this year he’s converted the words of Jeph Loeb into a summer popcorn-style blockbuster with the crafting of the script for Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.
