PRESS RELEASE – The largest lifetime collection of original art from ‘60s American Underground Comix — featuring iconic and subversive art from Robert Crumb to Victor Moscoso to Art Spiegelman — will be offered for the first time in 40 years when The Eric Sack Collection – Masterpieces of Underground Art crosses the block Nov. 17-19 at Heritage Auctions. Sack’s collection is the largest of its kind and has been exhibited worldwide in museums examining the counterculture art movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
PRESS RELEASE To celebrate it’s 30 anniversary of protecting First Amendment Rights of the comics community, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) and Heritage Auctions are offering 11 important works at auction from the 1987 “A Benefit Portfolio in Defense of the First Amendment” that led to the creation of the non-profit organization at auction. Developed in partnership with IDW Publishing, consulting supporter of CBLDF’s auction campaigns, the original art will be offered during Heritage Auctions autumn Comics Auction Nov. 17-19 live in Beverly Hills and on HA.com.
Recently, the original cover art for Strange Tales #164, featuring Doctor Strange, hit the auction block, and by the time the gavel fell the original art tied the record for another Doctor Strange cover.
Last month, Heritage Auctions put a CGC 5.5 copy of Action Comics #1 on the auction block. It sold yesterday for nearly one million dollars.

Currently, the company is offering Journey Into Mystery #83 for anyone in the world to bid on, and the Near Mint 9.6 graded first appearance of The Mighty Thor will sell for more than $140,000.
