SOLICITATIONS: Francesco Francavilla to take over for David Aja on Hawkeye

When an artist has been knocking it out of the park on a title it is sad to watch them leave, but what if an equally as talented artist were to fill that spot? Not it’s not as sad. Well put away your tissues because even though David Aja is taking a two issue break from Hawkeye, Black Bettle creator Francesco Francavilla will be taking over the art duties!

REVIEW: Hawkeye #6

Or – “The Continuing Adventures Of Hawk-Guy!”

With most of Marvel’s titles coming out more often than just once per month, it’s getting a bit difficult to keep up with everything going on.  I still haven’t read even a single issue of Indestructible Hulk, and I’ve only skimmed #1 of the new Captain America series, but I unequivocally will NOT let myself fall behind on this book, Marvel’s best ongoing series in several years.  Will #6 hold up the winning streak?  Your Major Spoilers review awaits!

REVIEW: Hawkeye #5

Or – “Okay…  This Looks Bad.”

Matt Fraction’s impeccable writing on Immortal Iron Fist a few years ago has given him almost unlimited carte blanche to get me reading his projects.  He followed that by doing the impossible and making Iron Man palatable after the Civil War debacle, and has been making the adventures of Clint Barton (often mocked as the most ridiculous of the Avengers, thanks to his super-power of “archery”) into must-read material.  How will he pull Hawkeye & Hawkeye’s fat out of the fire after last month’s cliffhanger?  Your Major Spoilers review awaits!

REVIEW: Hawkeye #2

Or – “In Which An Unasked Question Is Answered…”

A few years ago, during a time when Clint Barton was dead, a young girl took over the role of Hawkeye.  Though Clint has been back for a couple years now, the question of what happened to the OTHER Hawkeye has been wiggling away in the back of my mind, especially given his high profile of late.  Apparently, Matt Fraction and I think alike, and your Major Spoilers review awaits!

REVIEW: Hawkeye #1

Or – “I Still Miss His Cool Pointy Mask…”

Clint Barton has had a number of regular and mini-series in his long run at Marvel (remember, he first appeared in 1950 during the first season of M*A*S*H* 1964 as an antagonist for Iron Man) but most of them have been less than successful.  Probably my favorite was a mostly-forgotten Fabian Nicieza book from ’03 or so, but after his showing in the Avengers movie, the battling bowman is back on his own.  Your Major Spoilers review awaits!
