JOE team members still operating undercover in the wake of many of their identities being exposed to the public. Tying directly into the story of Fred Van Lente and Steve Kurth’s G.I. JOE, Special Missions’ first arc shows how the evil BARONESS ends up high and dry in the eponymous G.I. JOE book.

Remember last week, when we learned that Paramount had yanked G.I. JOE: Retaliation from theaters? The official reason was to do some 3D-ifying to the flick to sell it to foreign audiences. Thanks to Deadline, we now know the real reason.

This is really surprising news – G.I. JOE: Retaliation was scheduled to arrive in theaters next month (June 29), but suddenly, Paramount has pulled the flick from the 2012 rotation and moved it to 2013.
