Major Spoilers Poll of the Week: Shoot First, Make Love Later Edition

When it comes to space travel, there are a couple of routes you can go.  The first is the safe route, which means it takes 100 years or more to put a colony on the Moon, which is a good thing, because everyone knows the Moon blew up in 1999.  The other is to seek out strange new worlds, and make a buck or two by smuggling spice for the Hutts.  The second is a bit more reckless, but can lead to so much more in the end.  Which brings us to the Major Spoilers Poll of the Week! (Week, week, weeek, weeeek, weeee, w…)

On the Next Major Spoilers Podcast: Orchid Volume 1

Tom Morello made a name for himself with his music, and this week, The Major Spoilers Podcast takes a look at his comic book endeavors by examining Orchid Volume 1.

When the seas rose, genetic codes were smashed. Human settlements are ringed by a dense wilderness from which ferocious new animal species prey on the helpless. The high ground belongs to the rich and powerful that overlook swampland shantytowns from their fortress-like cities. Iron-fisted rule ensures order and allows the wealthy to harvest the poor as slaves. Delve into the first chapter of Orchid, the tale of a teenage prostitute who learns that she is more than the role society has imposed upon her, from the mind of musician Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, The Nightwatchman).

This week, the Major Spoilers Podcast dives into the Trouble with Girls.

TheTroubleWithGirlsThe Trouble with Girls is a satirical action series starring Lester Girls, who wants to be simply an “average guy” with a dead-end job, a plain wife, and no adventures more exciting than a good night’s sleep. But Lester can’t go for a drive without terrorists launching missiles at him, or walk into one of his many mansions without a beautiful, talented, curvaceous woman reposing half-dressed on his bed. Wealth, adventure, sexual magnetism, dashing good looks, and the savoir faire of a Hollywood action hero are what he calls “the curse of Girls.”

AWESOME: Things to do in the snow when you are talented

As the snow falls at the Major Spoilers HQ, at some point today, The Boy will ask if we can go out and build a snowman, or some such sculpture.  I hope he doesn’t see this bit of awesome, or I’m done for.

tumblr_meijoufrUY1rycuzvo1_500Of course if I put the youngest on the back of that sculpture, the Tauntaun would be yellow… and smelly on the outside.

TALK BACK: Django Unchained

The much talked about Quentin Tarantino helmed Django Unchained arrived in theaters today.

With the help of his mentor, a slave-turned-bounty hunter sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner.

Though you are still probably filled with holiday cheer, we want your honest opinion of the movie.  Did you love it? Did you hate it? Why? Make it deep and meaningful down in the comment section, and don’t let that little spoiler about Shaft shade your view of the flick.

Major Spoilers Poll of the Week: 3-effin’-D Edition

Though many of us loath 3D movies, there are few that we attend, thus forcing us to return those plastic glasses.  Many theaters run an spot before the movie reminding movie goers to return their glasses to be recycled.  With many reports circulating that these glasses are covered with germs (and fecal matter), we wonder what you do with your 3D specs.

VOTE!

What do you do with your 3D glasses?
