FF has been a very strange reading experience for me thus far. The first four issues were must-reads, but for some reason the return of Black Bolt left me cold. Will this issue fall on the side of “VIP” or “WTF?”

Dan DiDio, Bob Wayne, Jim Lee, and others are traveling around the country talking with comic book retailers about the new DC Relaunch and how it affects them. Along the way, we’re picking up bits and pieces of what is changing and what is staying the same.

Over the last decade, statues have been fighting comic books and trade paperbacks for shelf space in the Major Spoilers Nerd Room of Doom. There’s something about a three dimensional sculpt that brings the four color character to life. But what good are these statues (limited run, mass produced, and so on), if you can’t share their beauty with others?

As 2010 comes to a close, it’s a good time to look back at the comic book movie adaptations that hit theaters and see how they fared.
With all the talk circulating around Doctor Hugo Strange as the big bad in the third Christopher Nolan Batman film, and the recent reveal that Dr. Strange is the heavy in the Batman: Arkham City trailer, it seems pretty clear that the psychologist is going to get a fair amount of attention in the coming years. The rumor has Nolan basing his Dark Knight Rises on the 1990 Prey storyline from Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, so what better time to examine the arc than now? And what better way to check the availability of the series than by diving in back issue bin at my local Hastings.
I can’t remember much about the first few years of my life. I can’t remember what clothing I wore when I was two years old, I don’t remember who was in my clique in nursery school and I certainly can’t recall what my favorite variety of puréed food was. However, one memory of my early life has always been crystal clear: comic books.
This year, I was able to attend Mid-Ohio Con, and once again, it was an absolute blast. I was able to meet a lot of great independent comics’ creators, I got the chance to thank writer Kurt Buesick for getting be back into comics with his mid-90′s run on The Avengers, I even snuck a far-away picture of Lou Ferrigno. (Any closer and I would’ve been charged a whopping $40!) As usual, I took a ton of pictures, so check them out after the jump!
Digital distribution is changing the ways in which data can be disseminated. Accessing unauthorized digital copies of comics carries the label of “piracy” or the more politically correct terminology, “filesharing.” There are thousands of websites, forums and blogs that offer unauthorized publications, including comics.
Some publishers have been aggressive in …issuing cease and desist orders and asking for their products, current and future, to be removed. Marvel Comics, the #1 publisher in the industry has been the most proactive in aggressively tackling unauthorized distribution of their material.
If you follow my work here at Major Spoilers you have heard me both praise and criticize ABC’s Legend of the Seeker TV series. Recently Major Spoilers received the complete second season DVD set. What follows is largely a review but also a therapeutic moment of introspection in which I try to reconcile the aspects that I love about the show with the aspects that keep me awake at night as I hear my Film degree wailing in pain.
