Marvel has announced that Giuseppe Camuncoli will be providing variant covers for upcoming issues of Fantastic Four and FF, and when set side by side, the two covers form a huge group shot.

FF has been a very strange reading experience for me thus far.  The first four issues were must-reads, but for some reason the return of Black Bolt left me cold.  Will this issue fall on the side of “VIP” or “WTF?”

The Marvel Universe as we know it (barring a few retcons and absorptions of existing properties such as Captain America) can be seen to have begun with the first issue of the Fantastic Four.  For the first few years, it seemed that the stories were happening in ‘real time,’ but slowly, time in the Marvel Universe began to change, to stretch and flow and even reverse itself a time or two.  Many a comics fan has remarked at one time or another how difficult it is to resolve the sheer number of happenings with the in-universe explanations of how long the characters have been around.

Marvel announces Fantastic Four #600

If I remember correctly, when FF was announced, and Matthew told me how many issues before the series would hit the 600 mark, I started the countdown clock.  It probably wasn’t just me that made that prediction, and today Marvel announces Fantastic Four #600 is headed our way in November.
