During E3 this year, EA announced that DICE would be working on Star Wars: Battlefront III and released a small teaser. At the time there was zero reference as to when the game would arrive other than it being set for next-gen consoles. Earlier today news of an official release date hit the internet. With E3 having been this weekend, all sorts of game news is flooding the nets, but here’s one that is surprising a lot of people. The closing of LucasArts may not be as bad as initially expected as EA has announce that DICE, the guys behind Battlfield and Mirror’s Edge, will be making a new Star Wars: Battlefront title. Over the current generation of consoles, I would say that one of the games well towards the top of my favorites would be Mirror’s Edge. Rumors of a sequel started circling almost immediately upon the initial release and here we are, six years later, finally seeing EA and DICE release a trailer for Mirror’s Edge 2.
