I didn’t “get” how powerful comics could be until I read The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller way back in the mid-80s. It is a massive story that seems almost impossible to adapt to a movie, but Warner Home Video is planning to do it with a two part movie coming later this year.

Chris Ball, President and CEO of LA-based film production and distribution company Wrekin Hill Entertainment, and Joel Weinshanker, President and CEO of NECA Films, a division of NECA, announced today that Morgan Spurlock’s (SUPER SIZE ME) COMIC-CON EPISODE IV: A FAN’S HOPE will be released on DVD ($19.99 SRP) on July 10, 2012. The film will also be available in two Collectors Editions with figurines ($29.99SRP).
Superman vs. The Elite arrives on DVD and Blu-ray this week, and Warner Home Video sent over new images from the DC Comics adaptation of “What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way?”

One of my favorite Miyazaki films of all time is Laputa: Castle in the Sky. Now that Rodrigo has stopped snickering, many of you may remember the title when it was released by Disney as simply Castle in the Sky. Though James Van Der Beek wasn’t my first choice to play Pazu, the American dub does have Mark Hamill as Muska. In May, the movie gets a high def release from Disney.
