Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. announced today that Executive Director of Business Development Chris Powell is being promoted to the newly created position of Vice President of Retailer Services.
Diamond Comic Distributors has released its list of the top 300 comics sold in the direct market in January 2013. There are not a lot of surprises in the data; Marvel took the top spot again with the most comics sold, with DC Comics and Image Comics taking the silver and bronze. Month to month, January was slightly down (3.34%) compared to December 2013, but sales were up a whopping 19.86% compared to January 2012.

Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. announced today that industry pioneer and longtime Diamond executive Bill Schanes is stepping down from his position as Vice President of Purchasing, effective April 30, 2013. Schanes will continue at Diamond in a part-time advisory role, at least through the end of 2013.

Diamond Comic Distributors has released the rundown of the top 300 comics sold in the direct market for December 2012. It should come as no surprise that Amazing Spider-Man #700 was the best selling comic for the month, which lead the way for Marvel Comics to claim 60% of the titles in the top ten. Diamond Comic Distributors released sales data for comics sold in the direct market during December 2012. On the plus side, compared to December 2011, both individual comics and graphic novels sales were up last month. The bad news, compared to November 2012, sales were down by nearly 3%, and that even includes Amazing Spider-Man #700 sales.
