When Hack/Slash Annual 2010: Murder Messiah arrives, it will serve as the bridge between the Cassie Hack stories from Devil’s Due Publishing and the current series at Image Comics. “When we started off at Image, I wanted to give everyone a fresh starting point,” says series creator Tim Seeley. “So, we did Hack/Slash: My First Maniac. But my intent was always to continue with the further adventures of Cassie and Vlad, and this annual will set up a great new status quo for the ongoing series!” Cassie’s biggest “fan” — a serial killer — is on a spree, cleaning up…

Not too long ago, Devil’s Due went through different distribution methods when its Hack/Slash Reanimator book was rejected by Diamond. Yesterday, Devil’s Due announced it is leaving Diamond and distributing all of its comics through other means including Haven Comic Distributors, which has slowly been snagging distribution deals with other companies. “For almost over a year Devil’s Due has been in an unwinnable situation wherein Diamond garnishes our revenues to pay back returns and fees it claims are owed from 2008 and 2009, making it impossible for us to keep up with payments to talent, printers, and other expenses while…
Devil’s Due Publishing has released the cover images and solicitation information for titles arriving in April 2010.
Start throwing out the “No, I am the Spartacus Motion Comic” jokes now. Starz Digital Media in association with Double Barrel Motion Labs, Starz Digital Media will bring to market a four-part Spartacus: Blood and Sand motion comic series. These action-packed videos will feature gladiators battling for eternal glory in a gore fest derived from Devil’s Due Publishing (DDP)s official upcoming Spartacus: Blood and Sand comic book mini-series, to which DeKnight contributed. Spartacus: Upon The Sands of Vengeance” is the first in the four-part comic book mini-series. A sneak preview of the Spartacus: Upon the Sands of Vengeance motion comic…
According to Bloody Disgusting, Stephen Susco has been tapped to write the live-action adaptation of Tim Seeley’s HACK/Slash comic book series. The focus of the series is on a horror victim, Cassie, who strikes back at the monsters, known as “slashers”, with Vlad, a freakish man who frequently wears a gas mask. Susco is no stranger to horror films, as he is also writing The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D movie and Butcherhouse Chronicles for Paramount Pictures. HACK/Slash is being directed by Fredrik Bond. While all of this is well and good, the big question is, “who will play Cassie Hack?” …
I’m sure everyone is getting really tired of San Diego Comic Con news, but the news continues to flow. As we scour the Intardwebz looking for bits and pieces of news to share, here’s a Rapid-Fire Roundup of news from Dynamite, Bongo, Top Cow, Devil’s Du, Archaia, and Boom! Studios.
Following the cancellation of the series by CBS, fans get their chance to read the further adventures of the post nuclear war community thanks to Devil’s Due Publishing. “‘Jericho’ is alive and well, thanks to the amazing fans who’ve driven us to find new and fresh ways to tell the Jericho story,” said Dan Shotz, co-executive producer of the show. “Josh Blaylock and the DDP team are great partners and have shown a true love for our show. We are so thrilled about this comic book series and the endless possibilities for the future of ‘Jericho.'” The original Jericho producing…
Gee golly, that’s a lot of blood Tim Seely’s Hack/Slash hits issue 20 and through it all, Cassie Hack and her sidekick Vlad have literally hacked and slashed their way from one end of the country to the next as the duo (and friends) take down slashers in some really gruesome ways. With the trouble Devil’s Due had with the Reanimator story arc, I’m glad the series was able to make it through the storm, but what of the beloved goth girl and her monster friend?
Oh boy, nothing beats a girl in a bikini fighting Nazis. Well, I’m sure there are some things that could beat that, but I can’t talk about them here… While your mind contemplates that, check out this week’s sneak peek from Devil’s Due Publishing that includes Sheena, Drafted, and Echoes of the Damned.
I really don’t know what to think about trailers for comic books that companies put out.  On the one hand, I dig what people are doing with After Effects and 3D packages – something I’m very familiar with – but on the other, it’s a trailer…for a comic book… without a lot (if any) animation. Devil’s Due Publishing has released its trailer for the upcoming Dawn of the Dread Force for you to check out. Dawn of the Dread Force preview trailer

When it rains, it pours. First DC had printing issues with All-Star Batman and Robn, and now Devil’s Due Publishing has issues with two upcoming issues of Hack/Slash featuring Herbert West: Re-Animator. The company sent a press release, but to be honest, I’ve read it a couple of times and it still doesn’t make sense. It appears Brian Yuzna, the producer and owner of the Re-Animator film franchise, has no problem with what DDP is doing, but some new company called Re-Animator LLC claims it has the rights to the Re-Animator logo and is putting the pressure on Devil’s Due…
While there were a lot of companies that had news to share in their panel, there really wasn’t enough to justify a single article for each. To make sure we try to get as much complete coverage as we can, here’s a summary of the tid-bits coming from the rest.
