There are so many titles and issues that float through Stately Spoiler Manor that getting through all of them in a single week seems overwhelming. Fortunately there are some issues that rise to the top as must reads (Blackest Night, RASL, and Unthinkable to name a few). This is the case with the second installment of Batman: Streets of Gotham where the streets have been set a flame by Firefly.

Apparently DC is sending retailers a bunch of Blackest Night rings to give away this week when the first issue of Blackest Night hits the stands. These look super sweet, but you’re going to have to contact your LCS to see if they will have any, as this was an incentive promotion, and from what I’ve gathered from other source, it was also not free for retailers. via Bleeding Cool
After this morning’s buzz that Justin Timberlake was suiting up for Green Lantern tryouts, Variety is reporting this evening that Ryan Reynolds has been cast as Hal Jordan in the upcoming movie. Warners and Campbell chose Reynolds, who vied for the superhero role along with “The Hangover†star Bradley Cooper and Jared Leto. The momentum built for Reynolds in the last week, as he was the only actor whose option was extended. Those that were afraid that Timberlake would be flying around can rest easy, while the rest of you have the daunting task of voicing your opinions below. via Variety
It Begins… There has been plenty of lead up to the much hyped Blackest Night series, as the Green Lantern titles have unveiled nearly all of the Corps involved in the event. Green Lantern #43 gets the Prologue banner treatment, and is a great lead in to the mega-event.
The Source posted a smattering of pages from the next installment of Superman/Batman #62, which arrives in stores next week. I like the pairing of Supergirl and Robin, and as a big fan of the Blue Bettle series, I really dig on Rafael Albuquerque’s art.
