REVIEW: Injustice: Gods Among Us #1

Comic tie-ins to franchises in other mediums have a notoriously bad reputation. Sometimes you get some cheesy fun ones like Aliens versus Predator versus The Terminator, but there are very few good ones that are not continuations of the original property. Prequel comics, especially, are seen as not being very good by virtue of having to end at a specific place for the primary vehicle for the franchise to start at. So does Injustice: Gods Among Us, a comic, based on a video game, based on various comic franchises, work where others have failed? Find out with your Major Spoilers review!

REVIEW: Aquaman #16

He is the master of sea creatures and a member of the Justice League; a hero caught between the surface world and his ocean world of Atlantis. Unfortunately for Aquaman, he is also the butt of many superhero jokes in mainstream media, ranging from Family Guy to Robot Chicken (he needs to be near water for him to be useful, apparently). With the new 52, Geoff Johns had the daunting task of making Aquaman relevant. After a year and a half, he has succeeded so far. Now, this title and Justice League crossover to face off against Aquaman’s half-brother, Ocean Master.

REVIEW: I, Vampire #16

Definitely a niche book, DC’s horror title I, VAMPIRE has struggled to find its audience, and is quickly approaching its last issue with #19. With the end of the series nearing, should latecomers give this book a chance? Major Spoilers has your review…

REVIEW: Justice League #16

After a year and a half as a team since the 52 reboot, their roster has not changed. Besides Hal Jordan a.k.a. Green Lantern leaving the team, their core has consisted of a six member team: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, and Flash. However, with promotions for a new Justice League (of America) from DC Comics, change seems to be coming very soon.

REVIEW: Before Watchmen – Minutemen #6 (of 6)

Or – “Still Can’t Believe What Last Issue Implied About Events Behind The Scenes…”

I have said over and over that I can’t understand why DC chose to do the Before Watchmen project, much less so very much of it.  I just didn’t really see that there were that many stories left untold.  Last issue very shockingly reminded me that there were at least a couple of things I hadn’t considered, but the jury was out as to whether that was a good thing.  What’s the final word?  Your Major Spoilers review awaits!

MOVIES: Man of Steel receives MPAA rating

The rating a movie receives from the MPAA can do a lot to affect what the final box office numbers will look like. Synder’s Man of Steel was just handed its rating from the board, which is no big surprise, but why their reason for the rating should make people who have talked down on the trailers perk up. Full details after jump.
