Action Figure Review – DC Origins: Series 1: Nightwing

Whilst browsing around my local comic book shop today, I saw an action figure set I just had to have: a pair of Nightwing figures, featuring both the modern and original designs. What can I say? Disco Nightwing is just that awesome. So I eagerly made my purchase, and upon getting the set home an idea dawned on me: why not write a quick review of it for Major Spoilers?

Review: Batman Black and White Statue

Trying something a bit different this week, as I finally got around to opening the latest Batman Black and White Statue from DC Direct.  The latest is based on the work by Frank Quitely, and it is quite wonderful. So much so that I had to take it out in the wild to see what it looked like in the real world.

One Ring to Rule Them All… and in the Blackest Night Bind Them

Here’s a look at Hal Jordan sporting the costumes and rings of the other Lantern Corps.  The action figures were exclusive only to the San Diego Comic Con, and attendees could only buy two per day, which means they’re up on eBay now, with very high asking prices.  Right now, one complete autographed set is going for $450.

First Pics of Watchmen Figures Hit Net

watchmen_l_1.jpg

EW.com has the first images of the Watchmen action figures based on the upcoming Zack Snyder movie from Warner Bros.

The figures look spectacular, I just hope they are truly action figures instead of nicely molded pieces of plastic that end up as inexpensive maquettes for those who can’t afford the real deal.

If you happen to be in New York and are attending the New York Comic Con, DC Direct will unveil the first four prototypes on Friday, April 18.

BTW: Both figures will arrive in stores in January 2009 with a price tag of $14.99.
