It’s been a rough couple of months for DC Comics. With the launch of the new DCYou initiative, their hopes were high that they might regain some of the market share they’d lost near the end of The New 52. Well, it didn’t turn out that way. FIRST, SOME PERSPECTIVE The New 52 was a big deal as far as sales go, particularly when it started. A relaunch of nearly all the DC characters (except for Batman and Green Lantern, which were already successful), this event began with lines waiting at local comics shops on Wednesday mornings. Collectors went nuts

If you thought the controversy over the Tea Party and Captain America was silly, wait for the hilarity to ensue when a certain group goes ape-crazy over the upcoming release from Boom! Town called “Repuglicans”. If you’re a card-carrying Republican, stop reading now. If not, you must get this book. Pete Von Sholly and Steve Tatham bring you a completely unfair and not balanced take on Republican Party leaders and apparatchiks. Sarah Palin, John McCain, Glenn Beck and others all unveiled as vampires, freaks, and zombies. These guys put the UGLI in REPUGLICANS. “This book shows the true face of

Yeah, when you first see the picture you’re probably all “What The F?!”, which is probably followed by a lot of laughter.  The Christian hardcore don’t find it funny at all, and think Marvel is promoting a gay agenda. It looks like our homo supporting friends over at Marvel have created a new toy to encourage young boys to perform mouth to mouth in a non holy way to a blow up toys twiddle rompus! We might as well line our children up and burn them ourselves! If we make these types of devil pleasing acts ok they will all

Yesterday was another banner day for Marvel as non-comic readers lined up to get their mitts on the Obama variant cover to Amazing Spider-Man #583.  This was a limited variant, and some stores jacked up prices, which didn’t make too many people happy – including one ass of a store clerk. What of other reactions? Erik Larsen isn’t too happy over Marvel stealing his idea. As far as Marvel goes– I can’t help but feel very betrayed. They duplicated the incentive cover–and preempted my upcoming one–and even used the “terrorist fist jab.” Clearly those in the “house of ideas” looked

I was going to post something last week about the “revolt” many are having over the Mary Jane Statue designed by Adam Hughes. Newsarama has a really good interview with Mr. Hughes, and since it’s been a week, the Internet has something else to pick on. Today it’s the “scandal” over the Heroes for Hire cover that many are decrying as Tentacle Porn. Why is everyone picking on Marvel right now? How come there wasn’t the same “outrage” over the Witchblade Manga covers from months ago, when I first pointed it out? Both Heroes for Hire and Witchblade Manga have
