Fans of the HBO series True Blood will want to check out the contest currently going on over at HBO. The premium cable channel is giving away costumes from the series to a lucky winner.
There are eight authentic wardrobe pieces being given away including Sookie’s bloody Merlotte’s tee and other fabulous costumes such as Maryann’s wedding gown and Tara’s Victorian night gown.
You have until October 15, 2010 to enter, and the winners will be announced on October 18, 2010.
Iron Man 2 arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on September 28, and Paramount is going to give away a copy for a lucky Major Spoilerite. It’s a Twitter contest, so if you haven’t signed up yet, you have until September 17, 2010 to join.

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays at Major Spoilers, and we’re hoping you’ll celebrate with us, with our fourth annual Major Spoilers Costume contest! We want you, yes you, to send us pictures of your bad self dressed up as your favorite hero, villain, side-kick – really any comic book/pop culture character. Here’s what you have to do:
Send three to four pictures of yourself in your costume (and one sans costume – you must have an out of costume picture of yourself) to us by October 21, 2010. Make sure you include your name, address, and the character you are supposed to be (please, no made up characters). The Major Spoilers crew, will narrow the list to five contestants, and readers will then vote on their favorite. The winner will be announced October 31st.

We had a lot of entries in the Major Spoilers Twitterpitch Contest, and we’ve narrowed the finalists to five well thought out story lines for the current Legion of Super-Heroes. Take the jump to read the finalist entries, and then vote on your favorite. The winners get something cool from the Major Spoilers stash and an illustration of four of your Legion of Super-Heroes characters by Kristen and Adriana of Super Future Friends fame.
The new series for the Legion of Superheroes is now underway, and it’s gotten mixed reviews. Think you can do better?

Now, everyone has their favorite Legionnaires and their own idea of what the legion should be about. So here’s the challenge, we want you to go to Twitter and send us your pitch for what, given editorial power, you would do with the legion. The catch? It’s gotta be 280 characters or less.
Pitch us your concept for The Legion of Superheroes in two tweets. The first one should detail which characters you’d use, the second is a short pitch for the story line. Tag them with #legionpitch and you’re good to go!
Here’s an example:
Tweet 1: #legionpitch Saturn Girl, Triplicate Girl, Shadow Lass, Projectra, Telus, Gates and Quizlett
Tweet 2: #legionpitch A spacefaring team of sexy girls and monsters travels the galaxy providing aid and curing diseases, Doctors Without Orbits!

Someone sent this shot of the sexy Green Hornet women from the San Diego Comic Con, and it reminded me that there are a crap ton of sexy costumes to be seen at the show.
If you are at the show, or going to the show, here’s your chance to become Major Spoilers famous.
The first person to send me 10 sexy cosplay photos that you have taken (no stealing them from another site), will get their hands on the Kotobukiya DC Direct Catwoman statue that had everyone worked up a while ago.
NOTE: Images should be around 1200×900 pixels in size (or larger). Make the pictures look good (focus, exposure, etc.) crappy cell phone photos will get disqualified.
I’ll more than likely have something for the second and third person to get in on this action, too.

If you are an avid listener to the Major Spoilers Podcast, you know that we like to give things away on the show. While there is still time to enter the Sounds Like a Yoda, It Does contest to win some Hasbro Star Wars figures, the Meet Matthew and Win a Prize contest has come to a close.
Weeks ago I challenged listeners to meet Matthew in person at the comic book store he works at on Sundays, purchase an Iron Man comic, get Matthew to sign it, and get photographic proof of the event. The first person to do that would win an Iron Monger action figure from Hasbro.  Last Sunday, someone did indeed step up to the plate by driving all the way from Nebraska to take us up on the challenge.

Hasbro was kind enough to send Major Spoilers a couple boxes of action figures including some pretty sweet Star Wars figures to give away. And since we just don’t give stuff away without requiring some amount of work, it’s time for another Major Spoilers Contest!
All you have to do is call the Major Spoilers hotline at 785 727-1939 and record your best Yoda impression talking about Major Spoilers. No imitations of Grover, no Miss Piggy, no Fozzie Bear. Just Yoda.
